What I mean is, my favorite "type" of handgun is single stack 9mm autos. That is what I mean by "type", not make or model.

I like the single stack 9mms because they tend to fit my hands better than double stack guns and they are very controlable and cheap to shoot. I have had a bunch of them and find them a joy to shoot and carry since they tend to be flat. Flat is important when you CCW.

1911s are a type I guess but I have had some 1911s in 9mm as well.

I'm fond of single stack 9mm's also but I am probably most partial to S&W DA revolvers, especially the N frames and 22 and 38spl K frames.

Moonclip you and I are almost on the same sheet of music. The only exception is I'm fond of single stack 45's instead of 9mm's. Like those N frames and K frames.

Single stack handguns. Prefer .45 but I would venture to say the P7 series is my favorite and it is a single stack 9mm.

Single action autos with a similar grip angle.

BHP and 1911 are almost the same size with slight differences in width that can be adjusted with the right grips.

Ruger Mk2 has a little more pronounced angle.

my favorite type is single stack .45 ACP single action autoloaders

lots of power without lots of bulk

Single stack 9mm's (SIG P225)
DAO (with a long, revolver-like trigger) 9mm semi-autos (FN-BDAO)
Centennial type snubbies (S&W)
