What would you vote for the most accurate(non 1911) 45 Auto out of the box

I shoot the Glock 21 better than the Sig 220... but I am not sure that means the G21 is more accurate than the Sig 220.

You want an accurate .45? Then you're going to want what all the bullseye shooters are running.

Other than the 1911 pattern guns, the only other model I've seen on the line at a bullseye match is the Pardini GT45.

Although not really considered a pistol per say, the Thompson, or "Tommy Gun" is damn accurate out of the box...my .02 worth

I am glad to see the CZ mentioned. I have several CZ's in 9mm and love them.
The XD is pretty darn good also for the money.

I do hand load and still can't get the MP 45 as good as it should be, Probably just me. It's accurate but not a tack driver like the Sig.

Thinking about one of the CZ's.

Anyone have the Beretta Storm (Pistola)??

I own a P220 Platinum, an M&P 45 and several 1911's. The most accurate of course would be my 1911's and most of those are heavily modified. I was surprised that my M&P45 was able to group better than my P220... It just didn't seem to stand to reason that this light polymer pistol could be as accurate as steel, but at least in my case, it is.

If you want a superb non-1911 shooter, take a real close look at the M&P45.

going on manufacturer info, it has got to be the HK Mk23.

not at all practical for much of anything, but they guarantee 2 inch groups at 50 yards.

My uspc45 is also scary accurate, (when shot by someone other than me:rolleyes:)

Well, as much as surprise to me as it might for you, but I just bought an MP45c and after 200-300 rounds was routinely making groups (freestyle, 12 yds) as tight or tighter than with my P220 Elite Stainless. It could have been the mood in the air or how much coffee I did or didn't have...for me it's a toss up with nearly any gun and I'd never blame the gun until I really did some shooting.

What I know for a fact is that I could grab any gun out of the case and, for self defense purposes, the gun's inherent accuracy is not a factor in hitting the target. They're all far more accurate that is needed if I can make a single hole with them at 12 yards. JMO.

On the one hand, asking about the accuracy achievable out of non-1911s is snicker worthy in its own right, but I have seen a few impressive SIG 220s in my day and I saw a M&P45 at the range the other week that could earn a "accuracy bang for the buck" award.

Though it is very close to being one, it isn't. A S&W Performance Center 945 is very accurate.

The Ruger P90's had good reputations, too. I have one, shot very well.
