I bought myself something I've been wanting for a long time, an SVT-40 rifle:



The bore is in good shape, but it had feeding issues until I filed the feed ramp in the magazine some on the left side. Now it's fine. I've got a scope mount coming that will let me attach a normal scope to it, with no modifications to the rifle.

NSWTex, that is one happy-looking kid. =)

I got a gift certificate to my favorite gun store. This after she grabbed a box of freshly baked Cinnabon and took it to them as a gesture of gratitude for their great service to me this past year. She's never stepped foot in a gun shop before and wanted to get me a Crossbreed holster I'd been looking at online, but remembered the names of the guys I talk about and had them help her. I am truly grateful and lucky for her.

I got a bunch of .38spl ammo, as my collection has moved mostly to .38/357 chambered firearms. I still need more, but will hold off till some of this panic dies down.

My wife and I don't exchange presents. We are able to buy pretty much what we want. We'd rather spend it on the grand kids. It truly is better to give than recieve.

Last week I caught a deal on cast lead bullets so I bought 8,000 for $20.00 for 500. (9mm, .38, .40 S&W). Also bought 2,000 LR primers and some .30 cal Nosler bullets and some 6.5 bullets. It's time to hit the shed and start pulling the lever on my old Rock Chucker.
