i saw a thread on glocktalk.com where its real simple to inst. a loaded chamber indicator
@10ring, im thinkin the same thing
what could be beta than all 3 9s:evil:

The Glock 19 has been said to be the best gun on the market for size, weight, capacity, concealability, and value. No gun can do everything, but the Glock 19 comes pretty close. However, $479 +/- $20 should be the going rate for a NEW Glock, not used. If money is an issue, shy away from the .357 Sig. 9mm is simply cheaper.

I agree, Tex. It is ridiculous. I mean, for what you're getting in a Glock, they should cost at least $700. It's crazy that you can buy a Glock for $500 that is:

  • Tough
  • Reliable
  • Accurate
  • Lightweight
  • Simple to clean & maintain
  • Has a plethora of easy to find parts and upgrades available
  • Did I mention reliable?
;)

From, I believe, around $275 to $419 and decided to stop playing that game.

I expect all my manufactured products to be reliable, tough, acccurate, etc. and for the manufacturers to back them up. Which every single one has, eventhough Glock tried to hide defects in theirs from the public that has enriched them. And to this day they will deny what it was - a recall.

But that is about another issue called integrity.

$700 for a polymer?

Don't you know P.T. is smiling up above.

To the original posters question, I would think if they have to ask the 19 might be best for them as Glocks are best in their original design caliber. Just my experience.

Oh yeah, Glock 19 or 21, just depends what you are looking for.

Glock 19 is a great CCW, Glock 21 is a great Home Defense gun.

GunNut,

So you want light weight and all steel?:uhoh:

I just bought a NIB BHP which so far been reliable, accurate, steel and light enough for me to carry. It cost $449 plus tax. I suppose different folks have another view about what is too light to carry. Maybe those folks can get one of those 3.5 oz S&W .44 mags:what:

I guess what I was really saying is that $500 for a Glock is really a good deal for someone wanting a lightweight gun that is pretty fool proof.

I guess it really depends on what you want, and how you perceive value.

For Glock is reasonably priced for what it does well.

Steve

I'd say the 19, though as several posters have already pointed out, $500 is a little steep. If you want to practice a lot 9mm ammo is (so far) pretty affordable.

The 19 is a good gun.
