I know, I know...they are completely different, but I want both for different reasons.

CZ will be used as a home defense/range toy, Kahr PM9 would be my CC weapon.

I've been lusting after a CZ75 for awhile now. I don't really have a fun range toy I like to shoot, my other "full size" handgun is a Sigma 9VE. Good for home defense, but not that fun to shoot at the range.

My current CCW is a Kel Tec P3AT. I love how it disappears in the pocket, but I'm tired of being paranoid about finding .380 ammo out there - even though I'm sitting on 500 rounds. The Kahr is a step up in power and size, but is a 9mm whose ammo is plentiful. Getting the Kahr would allow me to actually go to the range and not worry about having to weigh the pros and cons practicing with my CCW/not finding ammo.

I plan on getting both eventually, but I can only get one for the moment, so which would you get first?

I had the Excam TA90 (Tanfoglio Italian copy) until it was stolen. It was my CC in a shoulder holster or SOB. I've since replaced it with the "Witness" (current Tanfoglio copy). Although I now carry a 1911, I still love the CZs and copies. I haven't had any experience with the Kahrs.

I have a CZ 75, but I voted for the little Kahr. I believe it's really a wonder of compactness. If I were currently carrying a 380 for ccw, I'd get the Kahr first.

If I could only have one it would be the PM9, but fortunately I have both and like both, but overall the PM9 is much more versatile due to its diminutive size.

The PM9 is more likely to go with you when you need it. You might also consider a smaller CZ that can perform both range and CCW duties (except for pocket carry) such as the 75D PCR (I have one of these myself and love it) or P-01.

while the CZ would be a good HD and range toy...and a large upgrade for the Sigma, i think it more important to upgrade from the Kel-Tac to the Kahr. the Kahr really is the class of the field for it's designed purpose

killchain: Don't agree with Kahr's company policies, so I'd buy a CZ. I liked the CZ I got to shoot anyway.

Are you my lost twin, Killchain???? :D

I have both and my PM9 spends most time in the safe .. or on days I have to tuck my shirt in.. P-01 is now my EDC.

My PM9 shoots straight and true, no jam, no FTF, only issue was peeling of Ni Plating (chamber) which Kahr replaces it (twice) without drama. From that one incident I was exposed to Kahr's quality system which is not up to my expectation... so it is just my problem, let's just put it that way.

I went with CZ, it is bigger and heavier than Kahr even to my med/small frame but is (still) an all-day comfort in the HBE Com3 IWB holster.

Your money, your choice... my next purchase will not be a Kahr but a CZ PCR. I still plan to keep the PM9- hard to beat for the warmer summer days.

I'm sure that Kahr makes a great weapon. But it's the same idea with Springfield Armory, I don't buy their guns because I don't agree with some of their policies either. And I've heard nothing but good things about their weapons.

I don't carry a CZ either, by the way... it's usually a Keltec or an FN that's with me at the given time.

Got both (although PM40 instead of PM9) and like both, but one is a sub-compact, the other full sized, so they fill very different roles.

What exactly would those policies be?

Like many other folks here I have both. Got the PM9 before the CZ75B ... both have been utterly reliable. Because of size the Kahr gets carried while the CZ guards the home. As you may know they are both easy shooters, my CZ has many many more rounds down range because it just handles so well.
My advice get both , then get a PCR to keep them company.

Can you guys elaborate on Kahr's policies that make them not worth doing business with?

I vote for the CZ because I really like mine.:)
