Who makes .358" FP bullets

Sorry but no as they're all RNFP. I have looked at Beartooth bullets however but they are kinda pricey.

Thanks fellas for the help but I'll keep looking. Woodsoup in the pic the bullet does appear to be a RNFP. However in reality it is not. My gunsmith casts these bullets and I picked up a couple of boxes. The problem is that I'm moving shortly and will no longer have the ability to get my hands on any more of these bullets. My gunsmith also didn't cast anymore up since he did the last batch so I can't buy anymore from him:(

This bullet actually is very similar in appearence to the Beartooth offering here http://www.beartoothbullets.com/bulletselect/index.htm
I just think that $20.75 is rather expensive for only 100 bullets.

Well, if you have even one round left you can pull it down and send it to lee- who will make a die for making them for you.

I looked at the Beartooth offering and its the LBT LFN design which is still basically a RNFP type of design . The nose length is longer than some of the other rnfp designs out there.
I offer A TC in 158 that is among one of the best for accuracy. I would like to know what is special about the design that you have been getting? what does it do for you that something similar can't replicate?
I believe that Veral is still offering those molds with that design.

Hello Mr. Palermo I was looking at the 165gr offering not the 160gr offering. I really like the profile of the that bullet (the Beartooth 165gr) and the Lyman 358665 is pretty close.

MissouriBullet, you are correct and I should have clearified when I started this thread. I'm looking for 158gr bullets only.

Blarby that is great idea except I'm not set up for casting bullets unfortunately.

Lee's 358-158-RF bullet mold pretends to be a RNFP, but it's actually much closer to just a flat-point. The flat is probably close to .30 or .32 across, and the sides just taper in enough that they'll fit in the chambers. There's a pretty sharp corner at the edge of the ogive.

no one offers what you want, and you don't want to make them? so get something from mo bullet and enjoy a great bullet...

@ 336 Thats a rough spot there buddy.... I think you've found some kryptonite on this issue, as pointed out by suzuki.

@ bob : ya, the standard mold isn't so hot- but if sends/has even one bullet to lee, they can cut him ( or anyone, ffrom any bullet) a mold. Its not cheap, bout $225 by the time you are done- but its a neat service.

DWFan thanks for the link to western bullets, that is exactly what I was trying to find. I think I'm going to have to get me some of those #358430 to mess around with:D Do you by chance know what the BHN of their bullets are?

okay so what is the benefit of this bullet, that you are willing to pay over double for it, when mo bullet makes top of the line projectiles for half the price.. you have made it very clear your set one these..why? what do you like about them?

These bullets have a nice size meplat, larger than that on a 158gr SWC. Which I like as I load these for woods bumming in my S&W M10. They also shoot very well from my M10.

Have you looked at the bullet moulds offered by Ranch Dog Outdoors?

The massive meplat on these bad boys is among the biggest you can get!

You might want to look at this one www.pennbullets.com/38/38-caliber.html 140 gr. RNFP
The weight is only 140 but the meplat is very generous probably the same size you are currently getting. They can be had in 12 BHN or the 20 Bhn alloy. I can send you a sample for free if you would like to look at it. Just an FYI.

New caster out there mattsbullets.com

Thanks for the help fellas' but I'm going to stay with what works and I like to stay in the 158gr to 165gr weight range. Like the old adage says "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I actually came across the Lyman #358665 bullet quite by accident. I was trying to work up a good load with the Lyman #358429 bullet. But my M10 does not like this bullet at all. I was really disappointed as everyone who ever tried it in the .38SPL said it was great over 5gr of Unique. Sadly such was not the case for me and my M10 at all.

I was looking for something that was some what close to the #358429 and that is when I discovered the #358665. In the Lyman manuals they list this bullet as weighing 158gr but it actually comes in at 165gr.

Jech I'd love to try those bullets out but unfortunately I don't cast bullets. I know that a lot of folks over at Marlinowners really dote upon them, and for good reason as they seem to flatten whatever they hit.

Mr. Palermo thank you for the very generous gesture I'd love to take you up on it. However it is not feasable for me at this time as I'm in the process of moving. Even when I get situated where I'm heading I won't have very much free time at all to work up loads with your product:( I'll be putting in a lot of 15+ HR days for Uncle Sugar 6 days a week. Thank you though I wish I could take you up on it.
