I am starting to look into picking up an AR-15. What company makes the best and most reliable EBR? And why?

Noveske followed by LMT and then Colt.

The best QC and most important features for a reliable AR15.

There are other good options out there too though.

Out of those 3 listed above, I believe LMT is making the best value AR15 out of the "best".

Stag Arms makes an excellent value as well.

I built my own, but if I were buying a complete rifle, it would be a Noveske 16" recce. I used this barrel in my build and it is an outstanding value for the money. If you dont want to spend that much (~$1400), I'm hearing some pretty positive stuff about Charles Daly. No first-hand experience though.

You do, Decide what u wnat and order the parts. A couple hours of simple labor and shes done. harleyspics006.jpg Sorry about the size. RRA upper and lower receivers, Wilson M4 Barrel, 6 pos stock and tack light.

I'm surprised no one has ever asked this before.

If I were you, I'd just watch this. If you listen intently and follow the instructions, you'll have more info on AR15's can you can handle.

There is no best. Different makers specialize in different things.

I have a Stag Arms upper on a nondescript lower. Best? Eh. Works great, though.

I think a better question is, is it better to build an ar-15, or buy a full one and get a warranty?

I have a mutt. M1S upper reciever shaw barrel Lauer lower reciever DPMS LPK. It works great.

If by AR-15 you mean a M4 style carbine look at LMT or Sabre. RRA and Stag are pretty darn good too for the money. Just my opinion.

If you want a precision type rifle, I'd go JP Enterprises or MSTN.

I'm seeing LMT for M4 style carbine but are they as good for long range rifles to use for punching holes in paper and hunting?

It kinda depends on what you want to use it for mostly, that and what you want to spend.

If you want to build one get the FailZero receiver kit and put a top end barrel with a medium twist rate, preferably hammer forged polygonal, and piston kit on it with a match trigger group. That will give the top reliability, accuracy and longevity.

price is what it really comes down to...
Top end: Patriot Ordnance Factory, HK 416, LMT, Noveske, Sabre Defense
Medium: Colt, RRA, Stag, Smith&Wesson
Economy:M&A, Delton, Doublestar, Olympic, DPMS

Any AR can be accurate and reliable with the right parts basically. The thing that matters most for accuracy is the upper receiver and barrel. Easiest thing is to buy a top quality lower and gather uppers as needed
