Amen. Tempered with smarts and a sense of responsibility gun ownership is something everyone should hold as just what it is an inalienable right. Sometimes it may be hard to hold that responsibility as in for instance, lately some suicidal nut has been shooting my dogs ON MY LAND with a pellet gun.
I have had to take them both to the vet to get pellets removed in the last year and a half and again this is with them tied up on my property. I don't know who is doing it but I am trying to catch them by simply watching and when I do catch someone shooting my dog in the head with a pellet gun on my own land I am probably going to want to blow their heads off, but I won't because that would be wrong and I would not only have to spend my life in prison but I would haved to live with taking a human life which is most certainly not on my to do list, so instead I am going to use the good mind God gave me and hold them at gunpoint until police arrive because I may not know much about many things, but I know that you can't be shooting peoples animals with pointed hunting pellets on their own land, and my dogs are family to me in every way that matters. If they run off when/if I catch them then thats fine because I will still call the cops and hopefully I will see them and know who they are and if I dont see who they are and they run off then I will just fire a couple of shots into the ground just to let them know what they are playing with.
Now, if I were some crazy gun owning nutcase like the gun grabbers would like to portray all gun owners as, then I would not think twice and simply go wild wild west on anyone who came on to my land and did such a thing but thats not the way it is. I am not going to brandish my weapon AT ANY TIME unless I have a darn good reason to do so, and I am CERTAINLY not going to use deadly force unless my life or the life of my family is in immediate danger. Although thats not to say that I don't think any little punk who would come onto another mans land and shoot his tied up dogs in the head with a pellet gun does not deserve to die, but far be it from me to be the one to decide that. I would be happy just scaring the you know what out of them and letting them know what they are playing with.
