Come on Cabelas, Midway, Natchez, etc. We have towels and sheets, we need ammo and reloading gear.

Why do only the cutesy junk companies bother to have wedding registries? I guess I'll have to make do with a Midway "wish list" to get presses, tumblers, etc. into the running. SWMBO agrees, since it's her .243 that eats the priciest ammo we buy.

It would be nice. When I got married, I don't think we registered for even one thing I thought we needed. Although the coffiee maker was nice with the clock and auto on, I coulda gone for some reloading equipment, or ammo, or even some camping stuff. Oh well, when doesnt the guy get the short end of the stick on stuff like that. I'd even forgone the batchelor party (way over rated) for some cool outdoors stuff.

KD5NRH,

Send an email to Cabela's, or just call your local store, and see if they can add one. Midway and Brownell's have a wish list feature which would be easy to print out to give to your guests.

I did receive lots of "man stuff" for my wedding gifts. I just told family and friends what I like, they did the rest.

I think they should have baby registries also. It would be nice to get a pink cricket .22 for your new baby girl.

Great idea! Especially if it were set up so that guests could make a cash contribution to the purchase of a single more expensive item ... like a Remington 700, or a Browning Citori, or ... (fill in the blank). Matched set, of course.

REI and Campmor have wedding registries. So does Target(for your manly automotive needs ;) ). In Target they give you the scanning gun and turn you loose in the store.

That's why I pretty much planned my own. We canoed one weekend and camped two weeks later.. a "split" bachelor party.

Everyone agreed it was the best they'd been to.

my bachelor party was a prairie dog shoot. good time had by all. strippers didn't care for the chiggers, but they survived.

i could've sworn cabela's had/has a registry... i may be mistaken, or they might have done away w/ it...

In the meantime, go to Sears. IIRC, they give you the WiFi scanner gun to register with too.

I actualy got a few tools out of it.

We thought that a wedding was supposed to be a ceremony solemnizing our love for each other, not an opportunity to choose our loot and extort presents. So we didn't have a registry.

I too wish that there was a decent place to register. I don't know how our appartment is going to hold all the cr@p that the little lady is signing up for, or why we need half that stuff.

I would be happier with a reloading press or some survival gear.

I don't feel like I'm entitled to anything as a result of getting married in april. But I would like to be genuinly gratefull for the gifts that I'm given instead of thinking 'great now where am I going to put this worthless piece of consumer garbage'

Boy, can you imagine how many people would be screaming "straw purchase" if you started a wedding registry for guns.

Yeah, WalMart won't even let you put them on a wish list, much less a registry.

Heck, some of my family prefers to skip anything they can't wear halter tops and shorts to, (which for some of them should include anywhere outside their house) but sends nice gifts anyway. If we didn't give them gift ideas, they might get frustrated and show up.

Partly planned out already; I was thinking an all-day range trip, and a friend reminded me that the range closes at dark...plenty of time for more partying.
