Before I click that.. I asked myself .. do I *really* want to watch it.

Yeah. I do.

Click.

OK it wasn't what I was thinking. Thought it'd be a gruesome action video.

THAT is one barrel that has seen better days!!!

I know someone who did that, he cut open some shotgun shells to get powder when he ran out. Somehow he managed to avoid serious injury but the rifle was RIP.

The thing that pains me is seeing a firearm destroyed needlessly. What I don't feel any pity for are the fools that blow their head off when they do these sort of stupid things. Read the manual, pay attention to what you're doing or rot in the ground with half your face missing, makes no difference to me!:cuss:

Wow! You care more for a gun instead of a human being! I agree with the stupidity and carelessness, but my goodness people are the mor valuable than anything on earth: not to live like this is so is to commit category errors of the most grievous kind and leads to the atrocities we too often see on the news and read in the history books.

nice priorities dude!! NOT!! yes, there are idiots that get injured every day with guns, but that is still quite harsh. i hope you are never on the receiving end of someone with morals like that.....

why you should never use.....

why you should never use smokeless powder in your muzzle loader

Of course their are muzzleloaders that use smokeless powder.

I think that the peculiar patina was rust.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife takes the position that Blackhorn is technically a smokeless powder that can be used since it meters like black powder.

BUT I have seen enough blown primers and perforated cases to make sure I do not have any of the usual smokeless powders (and especially not fast shotgun/pistol powders) anywhere near the shooting bench when I am playing with my muzzleloaders.

Not going to click through, I can imagine from others' reaction. Too bad the vidiots didn't read up on a few real life stories of people injured with rifles when they did things right. Lost fingers, hands and eyes can't be much fun and chancing that for Internet fame (and passing it on to others) is truly shameful; it encourages dangerous behavior and erodes a lot of hard fought ground in the area of responsible firearm ownership. No love lost on them here but I would never wish them harm. I do understand anger as a quick first response but give Grunt a little empathy before shielding these Bozos, ain't nothing funny about what they did.

The Savage muzzleloading rifle was developed from the get go to handle smokeless type powders, it is the only muzzleloader I know of that will do so and even it should be fired with low pressure medium burn powders.

SR4759 was developed as a low pressure smokeless replacement for black powder way back in the way back.

Shotgun powders mixed with rifle power cartridges are a bad idea even in modern guns!

My brother has one of those Savages, it's very accurate... He really likes it and has shot a lot of deer with it, some at fairly long distances, also he's shot some coyotes with it too.

Oh, I'm sure my views seem heartless to some but in my time, I have seen a lot of people go down injured or killed not because they did anything wrong, but just a case of wrong place at the wrong time or just pure bad luck and my heart goes out to them. However, when I see people that do their best to be awarded Darwin candidate of the year, I have neither the time or patience to offer any sympathy or empathy for them or their actions. I save that for the people that didn't have it coming to them.
