By the end of this month or the beginning of next month, we'll have veto override sessions in the Senate and Assembly.

In the Senate, it's virtually guaranteed that Governor Doyle's veto will be overridden.

It's in the Assembly where the vote will be tight. We have exactly 66 votes to override, and two of the four Democrats who voted for the bill (and who also voted last session for the bill and for the override) have not yet publicly committed to override.

Letters to the editor about concealed carry obviously help.

What's more important at this point, though, is to write letters to the editor about Doyle's questionable fund-raising.

The US attorney for Wisconsin is looking into Doyle's fund-raising efforts. This is weakening the governor.

And this is his soft spot. Shining a continous spotlight on Doyle's fund-raising ethics will make Democrats less likely to side with him. They're already nervous.

So, please pay particular attention to articles you read about Doyle's relationship with the indian casinos, with the public utilities, and other special interests. Home in on one of those issues and write a letter to the editor, questioning Doyle's honesty and integrity.

This is particularly important for the Sheboygan and Kenosha areas.

If we can get the Assembly Democrats--especially Van Akkeren and Steinbrink--to put some distance between themselves and the governor, we can win.
