Hello all, a few months ago I ordered some Winchester 9mm silver tip bullets (because it was all that was in stock).

I have the Lymans 49th, Lee's (latest load book) and the 2013 Hodgdons manual. I cant find specific load data for this 147 Grain 9mm bullet.

Can I use any 147 grian hollow point load data or do I have to have a load data specific for the "silvertip" bullet?

What other manuals would any of your experienced reloaders recommend?

Thanks

Steve

PS: the Remington bullets were just another set of bullets I had in the pic...

Hey thanks BDS, I appreciate the info and links.

Where do you see the overall length for the 147 grain bullet on the Winchester PDF file?

Also whats the difference between XTP and JHP?

They look so very similar.

Steve

1999 - 2001 Winchester load data did not show OAL and 2003 Winchester load data just listed "Maximum Overall Length with Bullet Seated" for that particular caliber which is same as SAAMI max.

In 2006 when Hodgdon was licensed by Winchester to sell their powders, Winchester load data matched Hodgdon load data and started showing actual OAL used - http://www.castpics.net/LoadData/Freebies/RM/winchester.html

whats the difference between XTP and JHP?
XTP is just a name used by Hornady to market their JHP bullets like Hornady HAP (Hornady Action Pistol), Federal Hydra-Shok, Remington Golden Saber, Speer Gold Dot, etc.

It stands for "XTP = Extreme Terminal Performance".

Thanks again bud, I went ahead and printed out the Hodgdon load data that they have online. I totally forgot about that data. It should come in handy (if I can find any powders)...

Thanks
Steve

When I come across a bullet that I can't find specific data for, I use data for a bullet of same weight and basic profile. Then I start at the starting charge, and begin my work up.
