I had owned one of these rifles, I bought it myself for $10 from a gun store. I think I about 12 years. old. This was back when everyone understood that guns were not the cause of crime. Boy, those were the goood old days. I have read that these guns go for around $40 t0 $80 in working order depending on condition, and about $130 for one that is i realy excellent comdition. I know they do not have much collector value. I have a rolling block in 44 mag. There were less than 100 ever made. Have you ever heard of S.L. Federhoff. Being rare is itself does not bring a lot of dollars to the table. The Owner was a really good friendof ine. My wife made me sell it in the early 1970s; She was very afraid of hand guns, I handgun I wanted was a Colt Trooper in 357 mag. So the comprise was; I only 3 guns at the time was a Ruger 10-22 ad a Montgomery 410 shotgun. I had to sell the Winchester 55, Much has happened since then] this was almost 40 years ago. I would like to know if any one was selling one or has seen one for sale. Mine was in perfect condition, No scratches in the wood or metal. Is the only gun that my wife ever made to sell since. I would prefer one that was in fair shape and not missing any unobtainable components. This is a low budget quest; the only reason I want one is that it would remind me of my childhood day. My wife just thinks that guns are a waste of money, and I already have two 22s.
