have read your posts about chinese sks being "the bottom of the barrel." i have a norinco and put a mojo on it. no jams yet and hot, it will print 2 inch groups at 100 yds if i do my part.(i am waiting on some wolf 154 sp as i've only tried their 122 gr.) seriously, do i have an eventual concern with this gun?:(

I've handled and fired two of them. I think they should stop using steam powered milling machines and bronze bits. The tool marks were quite visible. They both had horrible triggers.

of course, these are SKS'en. bad triggers are the rule, rather than the exception.

norinco and mojo

i really lke the mojo. it improved my shooting aboot 1500%. at first i could "play " it sideways, but some careful use of visegrips on the ears(for the sight)snugged it up fine. for the trigger, i pretend i'm shooting my s&w md 28--a really smooth double action--good cross training.:D

A thread dedicated to me??? I am honored and i feel like a celebrity in here. Thank you for so much attention, it makes my already overgrown ego grow to enormous proportions.

I had a Mojo on my AK SAR-1 and I didn't even know it! It came with a rear peep but I didn't know it had a name.

I might be getting one for my SKS and my M48A.

The Mojo's are really nice sights. I have two, one on a Yugo SKS and I got another for my M38 Mosin. It is a big improvement over the stock sight especially on the SKS coupled with the Williams "Firesight" to replace the front blade.

They have great customer support too. I emailed them about the long elevation screws and they got right back to me within the hour and said they would send me two shorter ones free of charge.

rjk2475, concerning the Norinco SKS:

I have two Yugo M59/66s, two Yugo M59s(the ones without the Grenade Launcher), a Romanian, an Albanian and a Norinco. The Norinco is much nicer quality than the Albanian, but a bit rougher looking metal work than the others. It's got a gritty trigger, but not any more than most of the other military rifles I have (the two M59s have really nice triggers, but they are well used and worn rifles). It shoots just as good at the best shooting SKS's I have (the Romanian and one of the Yugo 59/66s shoot the best BTW). They are all rock solid reliable. None of these have given me a peep or trouble once I cleaned them up and got all the gummed cosmoline out of them.

IMO, the Yugo 59/66 is the best deal out there for an SKS, but Norincos are great rifles too. Norincos aren't the bottom of the barrel. Albanians are.

If the Norincos are the bottom of the barrel the barrel must be full of really nice rifles, because my Norinco SKS is pretty nice IMO. Never a hiccup, did put in a milled trigger group though, decent improvement.

as for the MOJO sights, they don't have the quick adjustment capability the standard sights have. this is a problem with a trajectory as curved as the .30 commie. they also don't have as much sight radius as a williams reciever sight.
