I actually have a M44, but not in its original stock... so I will probably order a 91/30, M44, and M38 later.
Next on the list, I believe I will be calling CDNN tomorrow to order one of the Yugoslavian K98 captured Mausers... or maybe AIM to get one of the nice stock K-31s they have... and maybe a CZ-52 also... need a Yugo SKS too... Centerfire had some Walther PP pistols... ack!!

Oh man. I just ordered mine about 5 minutes ago! Also my first C&R. Cabela's is the only place I have found with ammo right now. Of course it is Norma and is 38.99 for 20

Eek, I would have waited for AIM to get it in stock (should be there the 20th) I am waiting for SOG to get ammo in to ship. Or heck, for 38.99, time to start reloading right off the bat!

Hornady also has (or had) some 7.5Swiss ammo. Far less expensive than the Norma stuff. I've got 40 rounds (of 60) left of soft point stuff. I just might put some mojo's on it and get somebody to take me deer hunting with 'er

Yeah, Grafs has it in stock right now, not too bad at $20 for 20 rounds. Maybe after they get my C&R it will be discounted a bit. I think I would rather buy the 100 pieces of brass though for a bit more.

I ordered a Select Grade from AIM last Monday. I was supposed to get it on Fri but it got delayed in transit for some reason so I won't get it until tomorrow...
I ended up buying the Hornady 7.5x55 Series III 2-Die set after reading information on the Hornady dies. It has a elliptical style expander which is specifically designed to aid in necking up brass. This is great since inexpensive, reloadable 7.5x55 brass is nearly non-existent while .284 brass is still being manufactured by Winchester. I ordered a bag of 50 Winchester .284 cases along with my dies and necked them up the other night. Can't wait to get my K-31 and make some handloads and shoot them next weekend.

I received this K-31 from Southern Ohio Gun. They have an August special which is not on their website, it was only $79 for the rifle. They didn't have any ammo for it though, so I back ordered some. I saw that AIM should already have their 7.5 Swiss ammo in stock, so hopefully that means SOG has it too. So alas, I haven't shot it yet.
Right before I ordered this rifle, I ordered some 6.5 Jap and 7.7 Jap brass from Grafs. I was going to order the 7.5 Swiss brass but decided to wait, which is a good thing, since I sent my C&R to them, so hopefully, some sort of discount will apply on the brass.
I will be e-mailing Grafs some questions first though... since I received my 6.5 Jap brass, I could not process any of it since it wouldn't fit in the Lee shellholder. I asked Grafs if they had any problem with the brass, and they said it "requires" the RCBS shellholder. Currently, my Lee shellholder is in the mail to Lee so they can size the shellholder to the brass for me. They even sent me another shellholder originally since I thought it was an mis-cut shellholder at first.
It is not as simple as just sizing it... read here about it or in a nutshell...
Size, trim, load at 10% below the low charge, because you have to fireform the cases to the chamber, and then treat them as 7.5 brass after that. Since Grafs has the stuff in stock for cheap, it would be much much easier and straightforward to get it from Grafs.
If I like firing the rifle much after I get the surplus ammo, then I will most definately pick up dies and at least 100 cases. $4 for 10 rounds is a bit much to plink with.

I agree 100% about reloading, as the GP-11 is horribly expensive to use for anything but matches (and that's NOT what I'm buying my K-31 for - I just want to plink, and to develop a good load to plink well).
Regarding the .284 vs. the 7.5 brass, I looked at the Graf's website and they sell 100 of the 7.5 for about $28; they also sell Winchester .284 brass at about $19 for 50. 500 is $125 for the 7.5 and $167 for the Win. .284. These are without the C&R discounts, but I have to believe that they'd be about the same for both.
Regarding the shell holder, does Lee make one for the 7.5? Alternatively, if you buy RCBS dies, will they come with the shell holder and, more importantly, will all of that fit in my single-stage, bottom-of-the-line Lee loader?

Necking up is simply just expanding the neck to the next caliber up. 7.5x55 and .284W are nearly the same in dimensions except for a slight difference in the size of the rim and obviously the neck. All you need to do is lube the case as usual, but be sure to get some on the inside diameter of the neck. I bought the Hornady series III dies because of the design of the expander. It's an elliptical design which aids in necking up brass.
From what I understand, Graf's imports the brass that they sell under their name. For the longest time they were backordered and the reason they gave to customers is that they were waiting on customs. I can't vouch for the quality either. I may get some of the Graf branded brass in 7.62x54R and 7.5x55 to compare it to the brass I'm using now (Lapua and Winchester, respectively). Graf's does give dealer discounts to C&R holder. They simply give you a password to get into the Graf dealer website after they receive you C&R. I faxed mine and got access the same day.
I actually just got my K-31 yesterday from AIM via UPS. It was a "Select Grade" from a new shipment they got in (and all the select grades are sold out now). It was $130 + shipping IIRC. Bluing around 85-90% overall. Stock has some dings but not as bad as most K-31s. All matching, no electropencil.
As far as my handloads, this is my first K-31 and 7.5x55 chambered rifle. I'll post a range report on Sunday (hopefully). I plan on using the IMR 4064 recipes on swissrifles.com for the Sierra 168gr Match King which I have plenty of after I switched to the 175gr SMK in my Savage. I also have a couple hundred Hornady 168gr A-Max bullets which I can try out, too.

AIM still has their regular K-31s (not the select grades they started selling last week) and SOG still has their monthly $78 special on K-31s (+$10 for handpick). It's not on the SOG website, but the sale price is legit. I emailed them on it myself and they confirmed. I may order one on the 31st.
When you order a K-31, it's a good idea to specify that you want one that is all matching without electropenciling. One of the guys in ParallaxBills C&R forum ordered a select grade K-31 from AIM and got a electropenciled force matched rifle. He assumed that it would be a true matching rifle because all K-31s he say were all matching and he was really upset about it.

The Lee sie set comes with the shell holder, the RCBS does not. Both should fit the Lee Loader.

The Lee shell holder for 7.5x55 is #3 and #2 for the RCBS. I use both Lee and RCBS shell holders in my RCBS RockChucker.
