I like the XD but would buy a glock due to better finish cheaper parts. They both shoot about the same for me
Get the pinky extension for the glock if you get it
On duty I carry the G19...dept mandated 12# trigger. Off duty I am supposed to carry either that or the G26(same trigger). I love both these pistols. I have small hands so I have to buy accordingly. Even taught myself to shoot more comfortably with the G26...index finger down the side and use the middle finger on the trigger. 2 hand grip with that hand position is fantastic! Even my P226 handles great with small hands. The grips just fit right.
Jeeze... even LEO's are getting hosed by NY's "common sense" gun regulations. I can't imagine a 12# trigger on a DAO pistol... no wonder some departments have such terrible hit ratios.
The 26 for me. I like the lower bore axis. Not that you can't find good holsters for the XD's but everyone makes a holster for the GLOCK. I also like the fact that I can work on the GLOCK. Simple wins for me.
You really can't go wrong with either though. Same with the Walthers and MP's, though they are still behind in the holster deptartment. Buy what you shoot the best. Not just staight accuraccy either, do some practical shooting if possible.
I've owned both. I thought when I bought the xd9 sc it was the gun for me. I shot it well, it never missfired and I had thought I would never have a reason to get rid of this gun. THEN I decided to buy a g26 just beacause i've always wanted a baby glock. WOW i can't beleive how much I like this gun. It shoots great, it has also never miss fired. I have larger hands and have always felt more better with a compact gun over a subcompact but this gun shoots awesome. I ended up putting a pierce extention on the mags and it feels even better. Plus the g26 feels thinner and lighter. I have now sold my xd9 and replaced it with the g23. Once you go glock you never go back.
