Your choice of 5.56mm AR alternative?

Held an AUG just recently, $850...if it had a 20" barrel and used STANAG magazines I would have walked out with it.

Here is the rest of that gun as requested. It is a R&R competion Saiga 12. It has some cool features: double mid barrel comp, true straight insert and drop free mag well, AR style safety, shortened gas system (to work with the comp), etc. Honestly I haven't handled one so I cannot comment on the barrel shroud hand guard but it looks pretty funky.

I have heard some bad stuff about this company from a source I tend to respect but I don't have a basis to really form an opinion about them. I am very interested in putting AR style safeties on a couple of my guns.

ARs are my favorite to a fault, but if forced to choose...

I have an XCR and I like the rifle...

But, my new stainless mini comes up quick, goes bang and IS MOA + .5 (1.5). I won't shoot squirrels at 300 yards with the Mini as I do with the AR.

For all the AR guys out there, the new Mini is really not so bad. If you grew up on 10/22s and regular rifle butts the new mini is quick to battle.
