Hey guys I am becoming someone what interested in a 38 super so question does anybody else enjoy this caliber and if you have pics please show them :D:D:D

I have a kimber with 4 inch barrel. It is a very accurate pistol and round. You have to handload to get the most out of it, otherwise you might as well shoot 9mm +p. If you like 147g bullets the extra case length helps over the 9mm. The 38 super is to the 9mm as the 10mm is to the 40sw.

I carried a 1955 LW Commander in 38 Super for years. Just about my favorite SD round.

A smart man.

Colt Series 80 Enhanced .38 Super. I have a 9MM barrel for it as well.

Gots two!

A Colt that I bought as a 9x23 and came from the factory with a .38 Super kit and a Mama's-a-Llama "Especial".

The Colt is everything you'd expect from them from the time. Nice pistol but with plastic trigger and MSH but made up for with nice three-dot sights and a semi-beavertail.

The Llama ("Yama" in case one does not know) is much better than expected.

You hear so much bad about them that I was really just gonna sell it on as they get high money anywhere near the southern border.

This thing loves hot loads, is extremely reliable, shoots flat as all get-out and has that bitchin' raised rib on top to boot. Don't wanna forget something I'm completely soft for: a lanyard loop!

i like 38 super as well, its pretty versatile, able to handle heavier .357 grain bullets which are great for suppression and can shoot 124 or 125 grain .355 or .357 bullets at the same velocities a 9x19 will shoot 115s

i wanted a double stack 38 super, but i didnt want one excessively wide and built on a double stack 45acp frame so it left me with two choices, the caspian double stack and the EAA witness, both frames are actually designed for the 38 super, so theyre thinner (like a doublestack 9mm) and i would have gone the caspian route if it wasnt $500 just for the frame alone while i could get the entire EAA witness for that price. and being a CZ clone and me being a huge fan of the CZ-75 thats the route i went

if i were to do it over again though i would have just stuck with a single-stack 1911 build, i just really dont care anymore how many rounds of ammo i have per mag while im still able to carry just as much ammo overall

Nice pics guys yeah I'd like a colt government in one full 5 inch barrel nice beaver tail good sights and I'd have to have a nice finish on it like that deep old school blue they used to do  for right now it's just a dream but that's ok I like to look foreword to my future (gun purchases at least) :D:D:D

Hey, C&L! Love that Springer every time I see it!

I'm a Super fan, I like Georgia Arms' 124gr GDHP @ 1350fps for carry. This is a pic of my custom Colt ORM 1991A1.

WC145 that is sexy right thier I love it question tho what does the ORM mean ?
Thanks!

"Old Roll Mark" - when the economy priced 1991A1 first came out in had a big ugly 'COLT 1991A1' roll mark on the slide. In '98 they changed it to the more traditional and tasteful roll mark that the 1991s still wear.

I have a Citadel (Armscor) 1911 in 38 Super. Good gun, the round can be loaded quite hot, if you are brave.

Your welcome WC145 I love looking at your guns I kinda think if you have time you should do threads on all your customs question who did the work on this one mainly the finishing work and can I ask for a rough estimate for what that bad boy set you back please I want to do a nice classic looking pistol/revolver that I can carry for years and years then pass down to a kid

Over a good many years I've had several Colts, a Kimber and an STI Trojan in 38 Super. I've reloaded for it for almost as many years. I enjoy the caliber but only have the STI Super left. Just an excellent all around caliber IMHO. The Trojan does not have the nice blue you mention, but it is precisely fitted, has a good trigger from the factory, and is a reliable and accurate pistol. Just an excellent pistol all around, and very good value for the money IMHO.....

My favorite configuration for a .38 Super: a Colt Commander. Great combination of size and weight. Also have a Storm Lake 9mm. barrel assembly for less expensive range time.

thanks for the comments! I'm jealous of the Colts.

This RIA is also a .38 Super. This one has a ramped barrel.

The Springfield Armory .38 Super factory nickeled pistols also have ramped barrels and came with fake pearl grips.

Mine is posing with the gun magazine article about these 1911's. Here it's wearing Bar S Tru Ivory grips...which are fake in spite of the name implication. :scrutiny:

It sports this Sambar Stag on a daily basis.

I have had this Combat Elite since 1996. Has a King's ramped barrel, extensive trigger work and one of the last sets of ivories Ajax shipped out. Really shoots 140 grain xtp bullets well.
