Recently picked this up off of a local forum. Actually entered into the deal about the purchase of a Pietta Navy .36. In the course of conversation he told me about what else he was going to be disposing of. When I found out about this, the Pietta deal got scrapped. That's OK though because my kid bought the Colt repro. So I'll still get to shoot it. And I have a Ruger Old Army to play with as well.
This particular double is a Navy Arms (Pedersoli) 12 gauge. Took it into Dixon's Muzzleloading shop to pick up a few things. Dixons is a well known shop in the area. Very knowledgeable people there. Mainly wanted to ask about the browned barrels. He told me browned barrels were run years ago. Also dated it at being made in the mid '70s. Told me they were made nicer then; lighter and fit together better. It's in very good condition. He didn't even think it was shot.
Now I'm just waiting for warmer, nicer weather so I can shoot without Arthur being a nuisance and damping my good mood.
