anyone use ACME coated bullets , thinking of trying them in 44 mag 240gr swc and 9mm 124 gr

I’ve used there 158 gr SWC many times they shoot and reload well. You’ll like the box they come in and the candy they send, also you get a couple extra bullets just because.

I'm not sure how you make a nicer Hi-Tek coated bullet than Acme. They use hard alloy and the coating is very thick and even. I tried their 9mm 124gr. RN and was very happy with them. If I decide to use coated bullets in the future they will come from Acme.

My wife and I have shot many tens of thousands of Acme bullets in 9mm. Coating is very durable. For various reasons unrelated to the bullets I've pulled a bunch and I've reused for practice at least 95%. The 115gr RN are very stubby and I have to load them short for some of our guns. The base of the bullet has a very sharp corner; combine this with the slickness of the coating and the bell needs to be just right if you're using a progressive and like to really turn the crank.

I've shot 5k of there 147 gr fp 9mm bullets since the frist of the year and I like them. Haven't loaded any of there 44 cal bullets but when I need some that's were ill get them.

Love their bullets, and they have always worked well for me. I have been trying to cast all my own pistol bullets but other responsibilities are preventing that so I think I will be ordering a few thousand of their 180gr .40 FP to load up over winter.

I like their coated 122 Grain FP-NLG for 9mm. Accurate in all of my 9mm pistols and a Px4 carbine. Pretty hard alloy and the coating works quite well. I've used all but 500 of the 3,000 I've ordered.

If you don't mind, what have you arrived at as good loads for this bullet?

I shoot about 10k of Acmes bullets per year, between 9mm and 45ACP. I shoot 115, 124, 147, in 9mm and 185, 230 in 45ACP. They are consistent, accurate, and very well priced. They are also based in my home state of WI, and I do like to support local businesses if they have a superior product.

Ive purchased coated bullets from 3 other places in the last 5 years, MBC, Blue bullets, and Black bullets. Between the 4 places, Ive found the Acmes to have the best coating and tend to be the most consistent in shape and weight. Id like to see them expand more into HiTek coated rifle bullets. Some 150gr and 200gr 30 caliber projectiles would be great for 300 BO. I plan on building a 458 SOCOM in the next 6 months, and I will be shooting the 458 cal bullets out of that for the grins. My only real complaint is that they are all red. Id like to have other colors available that way I can tell at a moments glance what is in my bulk can when I look at it, vs looking at the label on the inside.

There is a code from another website you can use to get 10% off your order, but Im betting that THR could probably get the same discount if they asked.

I have shot 500 158gr coated, in my 38 and my 357, and plan on getting more. They are a good price and load up nicely. I haven't tried the 44's yet, as I still have about 2k left, of my cast bullets, to load yet, in that caliber.

ACME 175 Gr SWC @ 7 yards shooting over the chrono at 5 yards. I pulled the last one down.

Good shooting. Ive found the 185s better for my 1911. During load testing, rested, I shot a 5 shot at 1.5" at 50'. Better than the 185 XTPs I load and shoot for protection. Offhand, I shoot around 3" groups at 50'.

I've purchased a few hundred of Acme's bullets, mostly PCed as I didn't feel like getting all my PCing equipment out. I have not had any bad bullets from them (mostly bought semi auto bullets, PCed) and really like their little wooden boxes, especially the ones with candy in them! Good prices too...

I use the 38 cal ACME coated bullets in 38spl and 357mag without any issues. I have tried the 158gr SWC NLG coated and 125gr FP coated with good results. For now I will probably go back to the 125gr FP coated bullets since it seems I get better accuracy out of them, and they are cheaper.

It will be nice if THR can contact ACME and see if we can get a discount from them.

I have two, 3.2 and 4.1 grains of TiteGroup, the latter may be a little too fast if your barrel tends to lead. For the 4.1 grain load I use lead free Fiocchi primers. Polymer coated are not supposed to lead, but in my experiance, if you drive them too fast, especially in some barrels, they will leave you a present.

I am impressed I ordered last night a few 100pcs packs to try and got an email this morning order shipped , seems like they have a good size following and a neat website
