Can someone tell me what gun has a one inch outside diameter round receiver? I want to order a scope base that fits something this size and try it on my one inch diameter slug barrel. Nothing in my gun safe is this size, and having a hard time getting specs of other guns out there. My Interarms Mini Mark X is about 1.2" but still looking for something closer to 1.0". A base designed for a one inch round receiver should contour nicely on the barrel which is almost exactly one inch OD.
If you are curious as to what I am trying to do, please read on.
Trying to find the easiest way to use my new red dot scope on my Mossberg 500 rifled barrel with iron sights. If I put a base on the 500 receiver I'll have to remove the base to see the beads when I swap back to the bird barrel. I think I can mount the red dot scope to one base of a two base weaver style system. So I would like to replace the rear iron sight with a single slot weaver style base. The Williams rear sight is easily removed exposing the cross cut groove in the barrel with a corresponding free floating nut in the groove. The Williams iron sight attaches to the nut with a single screw. I would like to screw a weaver style base to this nut and see how well it holds. Then every time the barrel comes off, the scope goes with it and I will have a good view of the beads on the bird barrel when it goes on. It's a 20 gauge youth by the way. Kid's deer gun someday hopefully.
Thanks
