I mixed alcohol/lanolin about 10:1 or so in a small, 4-6 oz bottle. It was enough that a small amount of lanolin would settle out in the bottom of the bottle after shaking.
I'd then decant some of the liquid out into a small spray bottle like can be had at the airplane liquid carry on section in Walmart's Health and Beauty section.
In the mixing bottle, I can top off the mix with more alcohol and mix again. As long as I get a separation of liquid and lanolin, I know the liquid has as much lanolin mixed/dissolved with the alcohol as it will take. I add a little lanolin when I no longer see a separation layer.
Works well but you do have to let the alcohol flash off. I do tend to spray a bit more on rifle cases than others seem to indicate though. I like to spray large pistol cases (44 mag, 45 Colt etc.) as well to make their sizing easier even though I have carbide dies.
Play around and experiment a little until you are comfortable with the mix and application of the lubricant.
