Damage it how?products damaging the polymer rail
We're very satisfied with the TLR-8 on our PPQs.
The only time I ever "chewed" up a rail, was intentionally. On my P99 I used a cross cut file and a few different grits of sandpaper to add a rail segment closer to the trigger guard.
With that out of the way, there are many next questions. Are you concerned your device overhanging from the barrel? Do you want a light, laser, or both? Red or green laser? Lumen of the light?
If you answer with no to overhang, bright light, and green laser, the best thing I can recommend is the Viridian X5L Gen 3 model.

I see no reason not to EDC the PPQ equipped with a TLR-8.
What your saying is, when you carry concealed, it's pocket carry. Yes, the PPQ is a bit large for pocket carry!Hi MistWolf,
I believe your question makes good sense. In fact, why didn't I purchase a long slide PPQ since I wasn't planning on utilizing this type of pistol for EDC? Well, I might consider a long slide sometime in the future. Although I'm not sure I would want to expend any more funds on this particular line of pistols. I have other long barrel handguns. But that said, I hold the PPQ in high regard and over years I've owned nearly every pistol from the major European manufacturers. I decided on a compact 4 inch barrel PPQ for its versatility. If circumstances dictated, I could conceal it and not just on my person but in many other places where my larger guns won't go. But...it won't fit in my trouser front pocket along with a pocket holster. It's just not that kind of gun. These things are extremely subjective and over the decades I've found what works for me. I'm more comfortable concealing smaller pistols.
Hello Bill Raby,
I have no experience with weapon lights or lasers. Do you think a laser is not useful on a handgun?
I think they are ridiculous.
All good questions, honestly I'm not sure yet. This inquiry on the forum is all part of my research. If I employed a light and or laser it would not be for concealed carry but rather used for home defense and car gun.

I am gathering the TLR-8 is pretty new. From what I have seen, I am rather impressed. Green, 500 Lumen and not very long. I may end up getting one and stick the C5L on my PPS.
Correction- We have the TLR-7 (light only) and we're very satisfied.Gone are the days where lasers were big and incompatible with holsters. A carry gun with a light and laser can pull many duties along with car gun and home defense. Mine does. Walther P99 with Viridian C5L.
