Last week someone asked about installing a rail on his CZ82 for a laser.

I can't find the post and I'm not even sure the thread was on THR or Glock Talk, so I'm posting on both sites.

The hardest thing about mounting a rail on the gun is finding a rail that will closely fit the gun.

Looking through the local gun store's junk box of rails I found a Weaver 60A top mount base for a Browning 22 Auto, that I could cut down to fit the CZ82. The slot and two screw holes were about perfect after cutting the mount off at both ends.

The two holes had to be drilled and tapped for the mount's 6-48 screws.
A little black paint on the ends of the rails and Locktite on the screws and the job was done.

Install and sight in a ($130) Crimson Trace Rail Master laser and the CZ82 becomes a nice low light defense pistol.

I sighted in the laser and shot the pistol, in low light, a few minutes ago.
Rapidly hitting a COM target is just too easy. So the target for the third mag was a paint spray can. Which is also easy when using the CT laser.:)

So for the member who asked about installing a rail on the CZ82, this is one way.:)

I did this some years on a Ruger and it has been a very useful after dark gun.

Very, very cool!

However, I would only rank this as the 3rd coolest thing to do for a CZ82.

Number 1 would be to get a hold of a Jane .22 conversion (are there any in the US???) and

Number 2 would be to see an '82 with slim aluminum grips.

But until then, good work! ;)

Great Addition

This is a great addition to a great little pistol.Mine is so accurate that it is my favorite handgun.A precise shot will make up for what it lacks in power!

Nice work. Very creative.

But I've found that the CZ82 is just about the most accurate gun out there. You could probably hit COM shots while blindfolded and dizzy.
