Springfield's Hellcat carry pistol

Looks nice.... like a refinement of some of their earlier guns. I'd be interested, depending on ergos.

To me it looks like it's top heavy, just like every other compact/subcompact SA has offered.

I like it . It's lighter than my XDS and my Shield but holds more rounds. If it runs good it could be a winner.

Interesting. For now I'll stick with my P938 Legion. This is interesting though.

I like SA and most all there products but naming it HellCat?? If I watch one more "tactical" sales pitch I am gonna barf! Such drama!

Well, it was the name given to a WW2 Navy fighter plane, so it's not only "tactical" but historic & classy as well!!!

I’m always happy to see competition as it gives companies an incentive to offer lower prices and better service. I’m happy with my P365’s and have too much money invested in them to make a change, but it’ll be interesting to see who else comes out with a similar gun.

Quarter inch thinner, which is the selling point I believe.

It actually looks like a really well designed little gun. The grip looks nice, I like the trigger safety, the finger rest at the front of the trigger guard would help prompt good habits and the sights look nice. Currently when I carry on a belt I typically carry my 2.0C and a lot of that is I don't find it much harder or less comfortable than carrying a single stack like my Shield, and I like the extra capacity, full grip, longer sight radius/barrel and easier/faster shooting due to it being a larger gun. This would mitigate the capacity difference but all of those other things would still favor the larger gun. This is still a very intriguing package, though, and if they can roll these out without the hiccups Sig experienced with the P365...I bet they'll sell a ton of these.

Well if it's cheaper than the P365, they'll eat into Sig's profits. I'm personally not interested in spending $500 for a tiny pistol in this market. Not worth it for me. If this settles at $100 or more less, I'm in. Plus Springfield likes to give extra mags and goodies on to boot...

But its SOOO wide at an inch. The 365 is like ten whole thousandths thinner!

MSRP $599. So no, not really. I got my last 365 for $488 out the door.

I do not particularly care for their choice of moniker, but the pistol appeals to me ...

... but I will be limiting my SA customer experience, for now at least, to my two 3.3" .45 XDSs (Mods. 1 & 2).

MSRP does not necessarily indicate what you will pay for an item.

The MSRP for the Springfield Armory 3.3" .45 XDS Mod.2 with Fiber Optic front sight is $568.

I recently bought one, NIB (Cabelas), that featured the upgraded Tritium front sight for ... $372.97 OTD ($350+$21tax+$2BC).

It's about .15" thinner. Definitely an improvement though.

I guess it's just hard for Springfield to impress me.

Looks interesting but I have never been all that enamored with the ergonomics of the SA XD line-up. Just not a good fit for me with any of their grip configurations.

As to the Hellcat name: it was also the nickname for the 12th Armored Division in WWII.
