Of all the places to argue that only the government should be trusted with guns, Robert Francis O'Rourke picked…Kent State University. Kent State ... to continue to promise to send armed representatives of the government to people's towns and homes to force them to surrender their property. This isn't just irony, but tragedy in the making.

"“The crackle of the rifle volley cut the suddenly still air,” John Kifner, a New York Times writer who was on the scene, wrote. “It appeared to go on, as a solid volley, for perhaps a full minute or a little longer.” Kifner watched as the students next to him fell to the ground, one shot in the head, another hit in the back, and saw them bleed out onto the concrete of their school parking lot.

“I was a white hippie boy, and then I saw exit wounds from M1 rifles out of the backs of two people I knew,” another witness, Gerald Casale, who would later become a member of the band Devo, recalled. “None of us knew, none of us could have imagined… They shot into a crowd that was running away from them!”

Over the next few days, 4 million people came out in protest of the Kent State Massacre. Anti-Vietnam campaigns became bigger than ever, and the way the US responded to protests changed forever. "

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

You know, this is where you feel like the mayor of crazy town. Sometimes it seems like this is so stupid that it HAS to be a put up job but his side wouldn't hand that to us. Every time I think ole Robert Francis has plumbed the depths of the stupid, he outdoes himself.
It's like Sideshow Bob screaming, "More rakes damn you! More rakes!"

No sweat. I'm leaving for Home Depot right now...

I wonder if this guy will ever get tired of how his foot tastes? This question is entirely rhetorical, gun grabbers never do.

I just saw an article that pointed out the same thing, I think Reason Magazine.

I keep thinking that he can't do any worse. Once again, he says, "Hold my beer."
It's last-ditch desperation. People in that situation do irrational things.

Beto's campaign is on its last legs. Actually, the pro-gun side should contribute to his campaign to keep him in the mix, and talking, for a while longer. Every time he opens his mouth it's a plus for our side.

I smell a conspiracy theory. The Democrats are sacrificing Beto. He's part of their master plan to make the rest of them appear moderate and more palatable to those in the party who were getting nervous about the party's extreme tilt to the left.

It's just getting so difficult to take the guy seriously ... he's becoming a caricature.

I would agree with that except so many jumped on that bandwagon .....until the backlash came. But some are still on board. Regardless of if he is a sacrificial lamb or not, he is representing the Democratic Party on the national stage. If their plan was what you say it was/is, their plan was/is a glorious failure.

Its hard to tell. They HAVE screwed up MASSIVELY before, case in point the 2016 election. This is just so wierd.
