Good choice for what you want to do. .22 Hornet and 20 or .223/20
I guess I was relatively lucky. Savage 24. .30-30 over 12 gauge with Improved Cylinder choke tube.
Ammo Winchester Super X 170gr Power Point; Winchester Super X 1oz Foster slugs.
That's what I have 22mag/20 gauge I really didn't care when I was looking and would have settled for either rimfire over 410 or 20. In hindsight I feel the Mag/20 is perfect the 20 just offers so much more than a 410 and being a single shot the added cost of 22 mag ammo is a non issue.Mines 22mag/20ga. I'd love one of the 357max/12ga.
I'd rather have a rifle and a shotgun.
Mixing both handicaps each.
I think you are missing the point of the weapon. As well as the fact you could still have something on your hip.The .22/.410 might be an OK farm gun.
But even then I'd rather have an 870 and a .22 pistol on my hip.
Problem is, you can't carry both as easy as one and certainly could go from one to the other with the flick of a selector.
I'll admit to not using mine for clay's or target shooting but if I don't know what I am going to be after, they are what I grab.
I bet both barrels at once would really put a hurtin on an ole swine lol.@Hog huntin Harry I think you may like the Savage 24 for hog hunting. A 20 gauge foster slug would put a lot of hurt on a pig
Too bad it can't fire both at once.I bet both barrels at once would really put a hurtin on an ole swine lol.
My brain must've stopped working when I wrote that. I don't know why I thought the Savage 24F has 2 triggers.Too bad it can't fire both at once.
