One of the reasons i love my 22-410 is because it is so light and small. I wouldnt want a 12ga one, or at least not for the same usage. 22Hornet and .410 would be really handy. Or 32H&R over 410. That would be a slick one. Can i just have like 5 of em custom made? Now accepting donations...

I guess i just have a thing for 410s...

I guess I was relatively lucky. Savage 24. .30-30 over 12 gauge with Improved Cylinder choke tube.
Ammo Winchester Super X 170gr Power Point; Winchester Super X 1oz Foster slugs.

I inherited that very model from my dad. Still haven't shot it yet. Thinking it might make a decent truck gun if I put a decent selection of loads in the case with it.

Mines 22mag/20ga. I'd love one of the 357max/12ga.
That's what I have 22mag/20 gauge I really didn't care when I was looking and would have settled for either rimfire over 410 or 20. In hindsight I feel the Mag/20 is perfect the 20 just offers so much more than a 410 and being a single shot the added cost of 22 mag ammo is a non issue.
A .223 would certainly do anything a mag would, too bad it's probably a 1 in 12 twist, a fast twist would allow you to shoot the subsonic 77gr that wouldn't be too hard on small game.

Problem is, you can't carry both as easy as one and certainly could go from one to the other with the flick of a selector.

I'll admit to not using mine for clay's or target shooting but if I don't know what I am going to be after, they are what I grab.

in the past I lived where small game and deer were in season at the same time - a 20 ga slug was all the range I needed in that thick stuff - and the 22 LR was ready for the numerous squirrels... :)

Mine is a 24 F 223 over 12 gauge replaceable chokes. The barrel twist is 1/14 like the old 222. I’ve been working a 223 load to get them to the same point of aim at some distance. But I probably need to find a different powder to finish. I am not looking for specific performance out of the 223 just regulated to something I can remember and I’m pretty close now to 35 yards 12 gauge and 200 yards 223. Shoots the 45 grain pills better than any other.

In the end I will probably have my gunsmith install a flip sight (think Ruger 10/22) rear sight to augment the rifle sight already on the rifle.

i have a Savage model 24F. Mine is .22 Hornet over 20 gauge. It's a heavy clunky gun that i use to good effect on called in coyotes. 3" shells loaded with number 4 buckshot are good for over 50 yards on coyotes. The stock on mine was too long and was shortened. .
