Lage is top notch in quality and customer service. He announced about a year ago that he was taking orders for his "last" run of M11-22 kits. I don't recall a specific reason given, but assume it was so that he could focus more upon his new AR type uppers and traditional uppers for the MAC variants. I suppose the common complaints about reliability of the .22 conversion kits also played a role in it. I had one M11-22 kit and bought a second one when he announced the discontinuation.
Unfortunately, I sold my original conversion kit in May for a little under list price. Those kits are now going for 2-3x list price.
If cleaned properly, recommended ammo is used (Remington Golden Bullets or similar) and care is taken when loading the magazines to avoid rim-lock they are fairly reliable and economical (in normal ammo price times, that is).
As with all things machine gun related, when something is available (magazines, uppers, stocks conversion kits, etc) you should buy them when they are available because you never know when some of these highly specialized products will disappear from the marketplace.
Given the apparent current interest and demand in these .22 conversion kits, I would not be surprised if Lage does again offer them in a batch of pre-orders at some point in the future.
