Question for SepticDeath or anybody else regarding Red Dots/electronic sights on air guns

Only reason I specifically called out Septic is he has a ton of airguns, tinkers restores them and I believe had a dot of some kind on one or more of them.

My question is do electronic sights (ala red dot, holographic etc etc) stand up to spring/nitro piston type recoil or are they just as susceptible to damage?

I kinda want to throw a dot on one of mine, something like an Aimpoint replica or something inexpensive but if the gun is just going to eat it I will pass.

I would think the dots mechanical parts would stand up better then a scope but the electronics might be susceptible to damage.

No worries.

I have an inexpensive nitro piston Crosman AR15 that I put a dot/crosshair on as test bed. It fits the nature of the gun and although it is working quite well it does work my astigmatism more so then my Aimpoints on rifles but I don’t usually use those for precision and I tend to shoot for more precision with my air rifles so that is why it is likely more noticeable.

So far so good though.
