Only reason I specifically called out Septic is he has a ton of airguns, tinkers restores them and I believe had a dot of some kind on one or more of them.

My question is do electronic sights (ala red dot, holographic etc etc) stand up to spring/nitro piston type recoil or are they just as susceptible to damage?

I kinda want to throw a dot on one of mine, something like an Aimpoint replica or something inexpensive but if the gun is just going to eat it I will pass.

I would think the dots mechanical parts would stand up better then a scope but the electronics might be susceptible to damage.

I appreciate any input.

thanks all.

I've had the same trs-25 on a couple spring airguns, and a dozen or so different centefires with without issues as of yet.

Right now I've got a cheap centerpoint lpv on my xs25, well see if it kills it. If so I'll probably go back to the trs.....which is riding around on my bully

About 10 years ago I put very cheap Wallmart BSA 4xX9 scope on my Sears/Daisy BB/pellet pumper .
It held up fine, but I don't reach out too much further than 20 yds
Great for controlling the crows and possums raiding the garden and upsetting the Yorkie.

( That's right big, tough, tatted, former soldier and cop has a Yorkie. The last guy that made fun of me lost 2 teeth, in a mysterious fall:evil:)

No worries.

I have an inexpensive nitro piston Crosman AR15 that I put a dot/crosshair on as test bed. It fits the nature of the gun and although it is working quite well it does work my astigmatism more so then my Aimpoints on rifles but I don’t usually use those for precision and I tend to shoot for more precision with my air rifles so that is why it is likely more noticeable.

So far so good though.
