Thanks, DB.
I think this one may have pre-dated their ownership by Leupold. Down in the left corner of the pic, looks like it says "...made in Denver Colorado"
I see that. (Now that you point it out.) If so, it may be a better specimen that I originally surmised. (Not to say the last runs of Redfield were bad.) I feel like the logo on the box matches their last run with Leupold.
Were older Redfields made in Denver?
I remember hearing about knock off redfields about 10 years ago
Seriously, right? Who knocks off a cheap Timex when they can knock off a Rolex?I've heard of knock off Leupolds but never knock off Redfields
I won a collection of Redfield scopes over the weekend at an auction. One of the scopes that I won is a NIB 8-32 x 40 . I can't find much about this scope online. Anyone familiar with it?

I am sure if the OP rolls the scope over, you could see the Redfield logo. I would guess it's a "R" with a crosshair on it like is on the box.
I really like those 24x scopes.
Metal boxes?? Those are old.
didn't we use some of those in Nam on sniper rigs?
Kinda how I feel, except I'm converting over to Vortex as I go. My Redfield scope will be the last item I replace.I own a few redfields. Mainly newer ones. Not bad scopes for the price. I almost always buy leupold when I can because they are the best for your money and you cannot beat their guarantee. Lifetime warranty and you don't need a reciept

Okay. I found it. Limited run right before they closed the Denver plant. Only made a handful. Seems like this is a rare and valuable target scope.
Vintage Gun Scopes — Limited run Denver Redfield 8-32x40mm Target Scope. 1". New, Duplex.
That looks like it. Thanks, HG!
I'll post better pics when it arrives.
