I think you are confusing a .44 mag with a .45 colt. T/C made a .45 colt/410 barrel, but to my knowledge there never was a .44 Mag/410 barrel. The rim diameter and thickness are not compatible.I had a 44 mag T/C Contender and it also shot .410 gauge shot & slugs, so maybe that's it. Just guessing, though.
Sorry, no, I owned one. It was chambered for 44 mag and also shot .410 gauge. I never did shoot the shotgun round, but I'm quite sure it was capable of it, as it also came with a choke for use with shot shell.I think you are confusing a .44 mag with a .45 colt. So, I dunno ... don't take my word for gospel truth ... there may be something missing in the story.ported, rifled, .44 Magnum barrel was made available for use with shotshell cartridges in a removable-choke .44 Magnum barrel, with the choke being used to unspin the shot from the barrel rifling, or, by removing the choke, for use with standard .44 Magnum cartridges.
I knew T/C made shot shell versions of their .357 and .44 mag barrels with screw in "choke" adapters to shred the plastic hull holding the shot. I just couldn't get my head around how a 410 shell would chamber in a 44 mag. I'm glad we got that cleared up.Ahem (he said, with egg on face) ... I think I've solved the riddle. There is such a thing as a .44 Magnum shotshell cartridge, of which I was unaware, and the guy who sold me the gun and told me the choke was for shooting .410 gauge shotgun cartridges didn't know what he was talking about, either (and I never discovered his error because I never got any to shoot in it). So, @Fyrstyk - you were right!!
