The recent thread "45 Colt here I come" got me wondering. I have an original version T/C Contender with 10" barrels in 22LR, 357 Maximum, and 44 Mag. They are all superbly accurate. I know T/C made a 45 Colt barrel but I never heard how accurate they are. The 45 is my favorite big bore caliber. Just wondering if it's worth looking for an old 45 Colt Contender barrel. This wouldn't be for hunting, just for targets and fun.

Any experiences and suggestion would be appreciated.

it depends on wether or not it was specifically chambered for the 45 Colt or is it a 45 Colt/410 barrel? if it is a 45 Colt/410 barrel it probably won't shoot that well because of all of the freebore from the 410 chamber. Mine was a 45 Colt/410 barrel and it was only good for the 410. 45 Colt accuracy sucked.
