Unpopular opinion: I think it was a mistake for Ruger to discontinue the SR series pistols in order to introduce the Security and American lines. So I would like to see something like those make a comeback. One thing that set the SR apart was you could get them in 9, 40, and 45. Every company is so focused on making as many wonder 9mms as possible so I doubt this will happen.

My guess is it will be something from Marlin stamped Ruger. Like a Ruger 336.

A modern lever action that takes high powered rifle ammo with a removable magazine like the Browning BLR would be a good start.

How about one such model in .223 that takes AR mags? Or one that shoots .30 Carbine with M-1 Carbine mags?

And price them way under the Browning.

The fine print says price will be $489 with ten awarded. So no Marlin I suppose. However it could be a .22 cal.

I would bet that opinion is not very unpopular around here. SR was solid.
