If I’m attacked by people using deadly physical force, a few will be going with me.And if a person is caught up in it, his firearm would be unlikely to be of much help.

I was kind of ambivalent about carrying until the recent riots and demonstrations started.
I visualized a scene from a long ago riot where a truck driver minding his own business, I think his name was Reginald Denny, was pulled from his cab and beaten senseless, with cinder blocks broken over his head.
His crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time, nothing more.
I don’t intend to be a helpless victim, and now consistently carry.

His problems came from a complicit state (of government).
The next post that attempts to take the thread into a political discussion will be the last post in this thread. Everyone needs to remember that in ST&T we discuss the nuts and bolts of self defense, politics don’t figure into it.
With the proliferation of concealed carry, criminals can increasingly assume that all their victims are armed. This is dangerous, then, because the "craziest of the crazies" will come to the fore among the criminals. You'll have "100 lb. chicks" being shot because of a mere suspicion that they might be armed.
On average 6.53% of adults have a conceal carry permit. I think it goes without saying that many people who have permits don't carry all the time, there's several in this very thread and we can assume the percentage of "always carrying" is much higher on THR than the general populartion. So let's say 5% of people are carrying at any time on the street. And like Gunny alluded to, a criminal is going to give an potential victim the look over before approaching to pick out the easiest target who's not paying attention to their surroundings, looks easy, is distracted, and is less likely to be carrying a concealed weapon. They're not walking up to the guy who's giving off the "cop vibe" because they ARE suspicious he might be armed.

Just wondering how many actually carry a gun on them at all times. Or just some times. Or just in the car. I've tried but it's just to aggravating. IWB, OWB or just in my pocket. My 642-1 is only like 14oz or so and is about as small carry as I can find. Except some derringers which I don't care for. But that's my question. Do you carry full time? Or just?
I don't like anyone to know whether or not I am armed until a situation arises that might or might not cause me to defend myself or others... even on boards like this one.
It's just too easy to identify a person from their online data... .

I carry most of the time. However, I haven't figured out a way to carry a Glock 19 on a track pants or shorts. So when I'm wearing that I generally don't carry. Not a good excuse I know...
I’ve got a little 72 yr old hitch in my gitalong, too.......but I just call mine the .357 magnum shuffle.Yep!

Behold, the holster and carry system of your dreams. Or nightmares I suppose, if you don't really want to carry while working out. This is what I use when I can't carry on my belt or need to keep my shirt tucked in. It works really well for my Shield .45 inside my waistband.
Used to use something like that when running but by Galco.
Horribly uncomfortable but got the job done.

That is why my sons both have a .380 Ruger LCP. It is their gym and jogging gun.Tons of micro pistols on the market that will not pull your pants/shorts and slip into your pockets easily.
