Ordered two new Reload Manuals

I just ordered two new manuals as the heading stated, one is the Lyman's 50th addition the other is the Hornady I do believe the 15Th Edition. Since I recently acquired a 6mm Creedmoor, and a 6.5X52mm Carcano Cavalry Carbine. It seems all my reloading manuals are finally out dated, as the only one that that lists the Carcano, is the Hornady but it doesn't list the Creedmoor, nor does the older Lyman I do believe it is 45Th edition. I sure do hope I can get info on both rifles, as well as cast bullets for the Carcano, along with powder etc. Using the internet has been worthless as far as the Carcano, but the Creedmoor gave me enough information to choke a horse. 36 pages of different loads all printed out!

Lyman 44th.
 
I just renewed my subscription to www.loaddata.com, which cost less than the new Hornady manual. There are well over 1000 loads for the 6.5 Creedmoor and over 500 for the 6.5x52 Carcano. Check it out, it's an awesome site! I haven't bought a manual since the Lyman 49th Edition came out.

Getting newer manuals will in my experience not help with old war horses. Finding a manual of that era from a new company will expand your options. The 7.7 is not in the current 50th or the most current lyman casting manual. I'm working my way backwards in manuals.

The 7.7Jap data in the 44th and 45th Lyman manuals is still pretty accurate, and the Ideal manuals back to 1953 have at least max loads but not always starting loads. Take that old data with a grain of salt but use it as a starting point, I guess.

I do appreciate all the info on reloading those two rifles, I still wonder why my 45TH Lyman Edition doesn't show that 6.5X52MM Carcano loads? BTW it didn't cost me anything to order those two manuals, as they only came to like $52+ plus although I had plenty of bonus bucks from my credit card to handle shipping and handling. I do know that the 6mm Creedmoor didn't come out until 2007 or so.

I have the 45th for exactly that reason. It also has a ton of good plinking loads.
 
BTW I checked my Lyman Reload Manual and it is the 49TH Edition not the 45TH, and double checked the loadings, it still didn't include the 6mm Creedmoor or the Carcano loads. Perhaps if I dig out my older versions of the Lyman, and Speer manuals I might be able to come up with something, although I've got some great loads thanks to the people here for both, at least until my new manuals get here.
 
I’ve been reloading since 1980 and still have all the reloading manuals that I collected over the years. Mostly they are updated editions of the manuals that I like but over time I’d branch out to different bullets or powders and a new manual was obtained.

It is nice to have the old information to look at.

I use internet sources at times but I like to spread out the books in front of me to review data from different sources.

For the OP, the Lyman 50th and the current Hornady manuals have good information.

I too have a bunch of the much older manuals, as I've been reloading for over 50 years, but with us just having recently moved, half way across the country (from NV-MO) so far I've only been able to dig out several of my reloading manuals. I do know that the 6mm Creedmoor is too new for any of them to have load data.
 
Lymans 50th (It does have 6.5 creedmoor). and their 3rd and 4th cast books i use a lot. I have the Last one Hornady came out with before the newest. One thing i like about theirs is they give a velocity break down with the charges. Not just the starting and max load velocity. I have Lees and Speer 15th and 12th too. The more you have the better IMO, They all have something the others do not have.
 
I believe the newest Hornady is the 11th. I have the 10th, Hogdon 2021, and just got the Lyman 50th. When comparing some 308 and 30-06 data, I noticed the Hogdon 2021 and the Lyman 50th have the exact same velocity and charge numbers for some of the powders, Stabal 6.5 and Super Performace in particular. So I'm guessing that Lyman just published Hogdon's data for these?
 
I used to be really organized when I was in Nevada in a little garage with an A/C and only one bench, now I've got my "man cave" with 3 rooms and two huge benches one for my presses, and another for my 2 casting Lubrimatics, and other paraphenalia related to reloading, as well as gun cleaning. A huge book cabinet loaded with my reloading dies etc. However, I've still got a bunch of storage boxes with a bunch of stuff related to all my reloading stuff including my old manuals and too much stuff to be mentioned. I'm gonna have to get some photos here soon.
