Well, they wuz.
Was leafing through Midway and decided to look at small pistol primers. All appeared to be out ot stock. Then I clicked on "in stock" and lo and behold CCI 500 SPP in stock. $75.00 + shipping and hazmat = $108.00. One pack of 1000 per customer. Ordered my 1000 & told my shootin buddy about the primers, 10 minutes later he had his 1000 on order. 10 minutes later than that, Midway is sold out.
So I will be occupied soon reloading for my .38 spl & 9mm.
Who knows when the next batch of primers will become available?

let me roll my primer dice…… -+*+*+*+*+*+ 2023

This batch of primers stayed in stock WAY longer than usual. I've seen them sell out almost instantly. I guess the price kept some people away and probably others have given up on looking. At least there was something for the new reloaders to work with.

Yep, starting to look a little better, patience my friends, patience and will power.

Keep watching Midway. LRPs (cci34) in stock at the moment. Others might be popping up soon. Of course the prices are still high.

Eh, I have been looking for small rifle primers suitable for floating firing pin guns and no having much luck. Close to biting the bullet for a single brick. Expensive, but the only thing I am missing and a brick won't kill me.
the adrenaline and dopamine rush when you hit the “Complete Order” button will be worth it. Then tracking the package and making time to intercept it so someone in the forum don’t steel it… PRICELESS!

Yeah, we'll see. Galls me, considering I bought piles of primers for $25 a brick plus rebate. I just didn't quite get that you need the harder primers to load for an AR at the time. Oh well.

what primer is that? CCI small rifle? I got about 1500 for AR’s but I have not loaded them yet

if you need it, just buy it. A hobby is a hobby. $50 extra bucks is a small prices to pay for enjoyment

If you are completely out of primers go get some, but don't let that happen again, so you don't encourage the current high prices. You could have bought three bricks, a couple of years ago for less than you are paying for one brick during this shortage. Does that make sense to you??

We don’t know what exactly primer availability and price will do in the future. If you don’t have a two term stockpile, dollar cost averaging is not the worst idea in the world. I started reloading in late 2019. I got several bricks for $30ea and no hazmat, I thought I was doing good. When the plandemic hit I scooped up a few more bricks but not near enough. Now I’m stuck grabbing a brick here and there. I could stop buying but then I’d have to stop shooting soon. If I would have started a year earlier I’d probably have been prepared for the long haul.

I’m fine, I’m 43 years old and my hearing is still good
