I sold ammo on GB. Created label. Placed label for ammo. Dropped at FedEx hub as usual.
Today I received an email from FedEx that my parcel being shipped back to me. Nobody advised me at drop time that something wrong with the parcel or call me back. Buyer already paid for shipping and taxes.
What is my option? Never had that kind of issue before.

Did you call FedEx and ask them?
Did you properly label the box as ammunition?
Affixing this:

Did you put the correct labels on the box? Ammo is supposed to ship under Limited Quantity Dangerous Goods.

Yes, I placed proper label. Address confirmed with buyer before shipping

We can't answer this until you find out why this didn't go through from FedEx.

But your choices as I see it are two:

1. Find out why and remedy this with FedEx and reship.

2. Ship via UPS.

Spent 1.5 on the phone with FedEx, been transferred 5 times. Told my story to 5 different people, still not a chance they will refund money or provide new tracking.
Reason for the return was incorrect label placed on package. here is picture of my package.
Will sent by UPC

Fed Ex has gotten really bad. My daughter had a computer packed by fed ex and shipped by fed ex and when it arrived there were rips and holes in the box. The computer wouldnt start. She had insured the shipment and filed a claim and it has been denied, despite the above facts and documentation through photos.

Could they have meant you put the label in the wrong location by covering the printed label/contents of the box ?

My suspicion is that the hazard label is not on the same side of the package as the address label. If it was in a stack of other boxes with the shipping label facing it may not have been visible. It's also possible if the package was going to a location requiring air freight like Alaska, HI or PR that it needed a different hazard tag with the Y in it.

It's supposed to be on 2 sides at least and 4 inches square.

Package supposed to go from IL to IL. I already reset via UPS. Went to UPS hub and make sure they checked package before I left facility. Been told everything is OK. No more FedEx for me.

When you went back to the FedEx hub did you ask them to show you what a proper label would look like?

I never went back to FedEx. I don't want to waste any more time. I already shipped via UPS and the buyer got the parcel today.

I would also suggest to cover up the original commercial packaging so it is not obvious what you are shipping. Fewer questions that way and old labeling is covered up.
