6mm Glatt

I've recently acquired a anschutz 6mm Glatt single shot bolt action rifle. Im wondering if anyone has any info or knowledge of what works through these guns. I was reading on another forum that maybe 22 shorts or 22cb work through it but there is little to no information on Google. If I can't find anything that works to shoot through it ill hang it on the wall.

Well, if it’s 6mm that’s not .22 bore. It would be somewhere around 5.56

See if you can look it up in Cartridges of the World. If you don’t have one, I’ll look in mine if it helps

Well I also read that the 6mm is actually the casing. Ill try to find a source on that.

Well, 22cb/shorts use heeled bullets. So the casing and the bullet are both the same diameter, around 5.5mm

From my reading the 6 mm glatt, seems to basically be a 6 mm flobert smoothbore....

You might see a flobert cartridges fit......

RWS has made and perhaps still makes 6mm Flobert... CB, and BB..... And it shoots single shot and hand loaded out of my 22 rf's just fine.

I get the impression that the case is just a super short .22rf. Shorter than the CCI 22 CB Short.

I had a handfull of flobert cartridges, gave them to a friends whos a cartridge nerd.......ive never seen them on the shelves but they are available online. I wonder if you couldnt open the chamber to accept 22 short or long rifle.

The RWS 6mm Flobert CB load was my "go to" 22rf quiet load for 35 years before I discovered Aguila Colibre and then Super Colibre.

Well I went against my better judgment and put some 22lr rounds through it. I started with two of the CCI birdshot shells through it first since it is a smoothbore. Worked fine. Then I shot a handful of cci standard velocity and they all shot fine and accurately. I was either going to not shoot it and hang it on the wall, or shoot it and break it, then hang it on the wall.

Ya know.....if its a smooth bore, would there be any reason they wouldnt ream it straight thru at case dia?
