This sparked a heated discussion at the latest Gatling gun club meeting.

The President of the Crank showed a photo if this JG Anschutz rifle. Note that it is marked 22 LR and 6mm Flobert.

Is this not a bit of an obvious.

Can not all single shot bolt action rifles that are marked 22 Long Rifle also be able to shoot 22 lr, Long, Short all the way down to 6mm flobert????

Did JGA have to do anything special for this rifle to shoot 22 LR & 6mm flobert. ???

They had to stamp it.;)

There maybe some special geometries that enable good function with the stubby little six.
The name on the rifle suggests there is more to it than just compatible.
Maybe a more shallow angle to the lead, or an angle instead of a step at the end of the chamber?

No. Cases should match chamber length.
They can shoot Six Flobert and all the other iterations of "22LR”, but they are designed for the wonderful “Double Deuce”.
Lube build-up and carbon ringed chambers don’t sound fun to me.

With as hard as it is for me to find a kind of ammunition my rifle likes, I can’t throw another sub-set in there...:)

Seeing as 6mm Flobert is also known as .22 BB and .22 CB, I don't see why not. I wonder if they penetrate any better than the Aguila Colibri? (Not the newer Colibri, but the original.) I can shoot those out of my '06 Winchester Pump as well as my Marlin 39A, and with both rifles they feed 100% from the tube. I wonder if the Flobert rounds will do the same?

I'm interested, I've got more single shot 22s than I'll admit to and if the flobert is quiter/ possibly more accurate I might pick some up. My normal garden rifle is a winchester 250 that has no trouble with colibri or super colibri or CB shorts up to standard 22lr. Only problem I have is accuracy, the colibri & super colibri are only good to about 15' , I can get accurate shots to 25 yards with CB short & long. I have an old shot out rifle with faint to no rifling left, it does well with super colibris but it's about a 10 yard gun at that point. Been fiddling with this for years and never been satisfied .

It isn't nice to brag.;)

A couple of passes with a bronze brush dipped in solvent, and all is good.

I don't know that I've ever cleaned my rimfire rifle...
I only use Aguila or CCI standard loads and they are amazingly clean.

My pistols on the other hand...:D
They get hot and dirty. With everything else I get a good deal on, but won't put in my rifle.
With little flecks of red, white and blue powdercoat and shiny copper sparkles from the "wash" coming off, and all the carbon spitting into the action, I actually clean those.

Any .22 rimfire firearm that can shoot typical .22 offerings can shoot the Floberts.

Certainly won't cycle a semi auto action, and may not work from a magazine.
