I don't know, it's comedyJust curious, but why was he operating the slide anyway? The hammer was already cocked so one would assume there was already a round in the chamber.

Must be "premature ejectulation"!!
He forgot his P’s.
For the same reason shotguns are racked several times in a scene without a shot being fired or a shell ejected.Just curious, but why was he operating the slide anyway? The hammer was already cocked so one would assume there was already a round in the chamber.
Same reason Glocks click several times when empty. Theatrical effect. For the same reason shotguns are racked several times in a scene without a shot being fired or a shell ejected.
Because Hollywood....
Not a bad gun. I had one for a while. Traded it off for something shiny and fun. Happened a lot when I was in my 20s, had my fun with it and moved on to the next one. Seemed to be a trend in more than just guns, but especially in guns.Literally spawned generations of fanboys..
(course who wouldn't want to ditch a Taurus?)

Can't believe it took so long for Inspector Callahan and his Model 29 to show up. In no other movie has the main character's gun been as significant as the Model 29 was in Dirty Harry. Any gun enthusiast that watched that movie must have at the very least thought of getting one.View attachment 1034045
Surely this Model 29 is worth an honorable mention!
What Beretta...?
