Has Kel Tec dropped the PF9 and P3AT?

The way they do business is to rotate the things they make so they can expand the manufacturing with cash only. They were supposed to be building a new building and adding machines. But I haven’t seen many keltecs for sale other than the p33. It also makes sense to get out of the two you mentioned. The pocket 380 and single stack compact market is a bit flooded. Plus as you stated they launched the new gun.

It appears to be true. P3AT is on the website in the discontinued section. Odd because the p32 is still in the current list. Then again the p32 has generally been very well received.

Plus it’s really just their market. Ruger doesn’t make a 32.

That would make sense to me. Wife is VERY recoil sensitive. She could not shoot the P3AT I used to have or the LCPII I have now. She did love her KT .32, just not the trigger. She ended up buying one of the Rugers in .22 and loves it. If they would offer it in .32 it would be perfect for her and others like her.

I think you guys are right. The p32 hits a lot of good points and no one makes a poly 32acp but them. I like mine a lot, though it gets only rare sunlight these days. The p3at on the other hand has been eclipsed.

My experience with Keltec has been great. Both of my P32s have been 100% reliable. Since KT has the micro polymer 32 market all to themselves, I don't see this pistol going away anytime soon.

My KT 32’s have been buried in the back of the safe ever since the 380 came out in the early part of the century.

The only reason I haven’t sold them is because at some point in my last years of life the 32 my be the only somewhat reasonable caliber of that size gun that I may be able to handle.

The PF9 is replaced by the new striker fired thing, the P15. Someone on another forum I follow reported that KT said the P32 is also history.

First I've heard about the P3AT.

No idea what KT might replace the .380 and .32 with, if anything.

All 3 have had a nice long run.

My P3AT has been a fantastic handgun. Always has gone bang, and is highly concealable. I hate that they’re discontinued because now I feel like I need to buy another one as a spare.

They’re pieces of junk. The PF9 was the worst pistol I ever bought.

With the Marlin acquisition keeping them busy it’s hard to say when Ruger will get around to stealing another KelTec design. Not all firearms are meant to be loved in equal measure, some simply exist for practical purpose. Now that I own a KelTec I can finally say “how fun is this!”

I'll agree about the PF9, but I've never had a problem with my P32.

Same here. It’s actually been very reliable and I carry it sometimes.

Ten years ago I bought some extremely low recoil handguns to help my young daughter who wanted to learn to shoot.

Good thing I made the investment. 10 or 20 years from now they'll be the only ones I can shoot.

When they announced the P15 in January they also said the P3AT will be discontinued.

Other significant KelTec pistol innovations include the new P50 pistol and the now retired PF9 and P11 pistols, the P11 being the first sub-compact polymer 9mm handgun for concealed carry. Also slated for retirement due to P15 innovation is the P3AT.

I have both the PF9 and P3AT. The PF9 sits in the safe while the P3AT still gets carried often when I need something small and discrete. My two complaints about the P3AT is that it is hard to rack the slide with arthritis and fibromyalgia. And both have long trigger pulls. Other than that, they have been very reliable.

I can see the PF9 getting discontinued with how the market is and everyone wanting higher capacity magazines. Though a light single stack still has its place. The PF9 is smaller and lighter than a Glock G43.

I don't think that Kel-Tec should do away with the P3AT. It still has its place.

Seen a barely used p3at at lgs for $179 a few weeks ago.
Needless to say it came home with me.
Cool lil gun for the money.

Sigh, these panic shortages come over and over. Yet soooo many shooters act like they never saw one before. It takes decades for a new plant to pay for the cost to open. If the people making ammo triple the capacity the pipe line would fill and NO ONE would want the ammo. Then they have to shut down part, lay people off, and the best part is they pay taxes on the stuff they are not using. Every panic shortage starts out the same. Shelves full of ammo, no one wants it. Panic hits yet again and shooters want there to be a magic conspiracy. A few years ago Midway was willing to eat the Haz-Mat charges to get people to order primers. No one wanted them. Now that another panic is going on? Suddenly its a conspiracy again.

This this thread makes me want to hug my P32 and say it's all going to be OK
