this beauty shows up every now and again too. She's way more cynical of people, and she actively hunts my chipmunks

I think it’s a juvenile. Hence the darker colour and smaller body . But I don’t know. That Snow Owl doesn't seem bothered by you at all. Neat pic!
Since we have spiders, male tarantula during fall mating season. They wander around looking for females. Only time of the year we see them.

Fantastic pix. Thanks for posting. I have some Snowy Owl pix but I was never able to get close enough that they came out good. They are rare in winter on the south side of Lake Ontario but do show up occasionally. Had one land on the roof early one morning on Nov. 25th, 2020. This one was close but taking pix through the screen kind of spoiled the auto focus. At least I got a few before it left; here's one of the "better" ones... .I think it’s a juvenile. Hence the darker colour and smaller body . But I don’t know.
She would fly 10 yards and land to watch me. I’d walked up and get a pic and repeat for a bit. Till I left the trail.
Pine Marten? Definitely some type of weasel…
He does look rather "fluid". But not at all vicious....View attachment 1072477
The only bear we have around our house. He looks so viscous!
