went to National gun day in Louisville ky today, Fed and cci primers were going for $150-$175, they were all priced that way, like they set the prices before the show opened, so screw them, I bought these 5000 Genex primers made in Bosnia for $80 per 1000. They seat a little hard, but doable, going to test them next week in my .40 Sig Ginex 001.JPG

Gun shows aren't what they used to be. I don't even go anymore.
Unfortunately that is too true! I went to a show 2 weekends ago @ The Pocono Race way in PA and the ammo and gun prices.were so high I went home with all my money still in my pocket. :( There was a time long ago when you bought so much ammo there you needed to buy am ammo can or 2 to carry it home lol...

Now the ammo cans are $15 - $20 each for the 30 Cal cans. (and not new)

I could go on but I'm sure most of you already know from seeing it yourself.

I have discovered a few new places to buy them online over the past two years, since my LGS could not get them anymore. Two such places online: AmericanReloading and ReloadingUnlimited , both with a dot com after the name.

I really liked the fact that ReloadingUnlimited has been selling alternative brand primers, and I have bought them and tested them successfully. As does AmericanReloading (FANTASTIC prices on projectiles, my new go-to!). MagTech (made in Brazil) and Fiocchi (made in Italy) are two small pistol and rifle primer brands that I had never bought before this ammo and component panic/drought. I really did not want to give a penny more to the typical big primer companies while they were screwing us, so I stopped buying them and just bought from the companies that I mention above. Prices were around the same as the big guy primers, sometimes a little more, and sometimes a little less. I am okay with that because I am so darn tired of paying top dollar for table scraps from CCI, Federal, Remington, and Winchester.

That's a good price. Best I cold find on-line was $425/5k...but it included shipping and HazMat

Are they the brass cup or the nickle cup?

I have the nickle cup ones and they work really well in 9mm as a replacement for CCI.

I also tried them in my revolvers as a replacement for Federal and it required an extra quarter turn on the strain screw to set them off. They might not have been seated completely because they went off on the second strike

Thanks for the tip as I have bookmarked those two sites for possible future use. I notice that neither of them have any large rifle primers which seem to be impossible to find anywhere right now.

The last brick of LRP's I bought was $165 after shipping and hazmat was added and I was glad to get them even at that price.

I went to a small local one, and a vendor was selling 100 at a time WLR and CCI sp for $5, but the limit was strictly 1 and you got a hand stamp LOL. This was a ploy to get traffic to his table, which was well stocked with brass, bullets and other reloading gear at normalish prices. It worked! The American entrepreneur is alive and well!

I know that Reloading Unlimited has had LRP's at one poi

I hope you can get some there ASAP! Good luck!

I bought 5000 of the ginex primers. The
Brass cup type. They loaded just fine using RCBS hand priming tool into 9mm brass.
KRarmory .com
420.00 to my door.

Hopefully see if they go bang today.

Guns shows haven't been places to go for gun bargains for decades now.

However, for the typical $5-$10 door charge they're great places to go just to walk around and entertain yourself for a couple hours.

I go to find and handle guns I'm considering buying, pick up various trinkets & knickknacks on the cheap, and see if I can find that "one thing" I can't seem to find anywhere else.

As a rule I don't expect anything directly related to guns and ammunition to be cheaper than brick and mortar stores.

Yeah, I agree!

less then say, 10 years ago, I found really good deals. Like the Mosin Crate guy was selling Mosin from the crate for less then $200. You got to pick what Mosin you wanted. i picked a Tula for $179! Guy also had real Russian Spam cans for $120 (i recall)

not a lot of reloading tables that remember, but Ammo was cheap then. Like it was common to see 1k 9mm for $150-ish and Green tip for $200-ish /K

Yup, Then was then and now is now, I'm old enough to remember ; penny post cards,5 cent phone calls,.10 cent beers and a free lunch, 5 cent cigars, loosie cigarettes, shoe repair shops, .25 cent movie matinee's with cartoons and Pathe news. among other things.

One of the benefits of buying at gun shows used to be saving on the shipping, handling and hazmat fees. The way they price now it seems they add in any incidental costs incurred or not
