The video says nothing about SP-101s of course, but it’s not a leap to imagine the same barrel history as the GP. Thanks for the post.

This is why I need more rugersI called Ruger CS a little while ago. They put a new barrel on and after test firing they polished the gun. It will probably ship Monday. How's that for a quick turnaround?
I much prefer S & W revolvers over Ruger as they are more portable. I don't care for the new S & W revolvers at all & right now if I were looking for a non ccw revolver I would get the Ruger. This is why I need more rugers
Don't know if it was ever an actual recall, that was back in the 80's when .44 Redhawks were throwing barrels downrange.
Don't worry, it's like shooting two projectiles at once! Double damage! Is there a serial number range when Redhawks were affected with this barrel thread issue? Mine was purchased new on 6-12-82 and I've always worried that a barrel might be following the bullet on the way to a charging bear.

Not that I know of. That said, the problem surfaced around the 1987 timeframe. I think you're safe if your gun was purchased significantly before then.Is there a serial number range when Redhawks were affected with this barrel thread issue?
Got the gun back today with a new barrel, test target, proofed and refinished. No charge. That's was the same failure I experienced with my Speed Six barrel.
1982 production.
Ruger replaced it a no cost (-transfer fee) with a gun of my choice (Super Blackhawk Hunter) Ruger will take care of the OP.
