I have the worn Tyler T adapter which came with my 10-8 I bought used a few years ago. The gun appeared to be a worn duty gun with a 4" barrel. I had the gun customized and it's a favorite.

Yes. I had a local gunsmith cut and crown the barrel, and slab side it. He also cut a dovetail for a front sight. I installed a factory DAO hammer and I used cold blue on the barrel and spots on the gun which were missing bluing. I would like to have it refinished, but the current finish adds to the character.
I have had this Tyler T-Grip Adapter on a J frame for the last 40+ years now. Started out on a sweet looking nickel plated Model 38 I had. From there it went on a Model 649 and later on a Model 638. LIked it better on the Model 649 and put the factory rubber boot grips back on the Model 638.
Two 32 magnums, the Charter Arms has a slightly modified BK adapter. The Taurus has one from Robertson Trading Post. Both sort of fit my hand like a glove !
I like them, a lot. I have adapters from Tyler T Grip, Mershon, Pachmyar, B K and the two styles from S&W.
A few more,
And in case I buy a revolver without a grip adapter.
And, I am not one who necessarily cares what size they are. I place them on the revolver and if they don’t feel “right”, swap them out until I get the correct combination.
