500 S&W Carbine Pump

I've been looking for a good carbine in 460 S&W and haven't found anything decent. I would imagine it's the same for the 500.

That's a nice looking pump but I think I'll skip it due to the $1600 price tag.

id love to have one but im not sure on the .500s&w i think there is only one plac in town here that sells it plus its just a massive round

i really like the looks of it alot of pumps are ugly but that looks like a pump shotgun good looking gun but ungodly price id like on in .45-70 or .444

I wouldn't mind seeing one in 38.special or 30-30.

Over all it's a nice looking pump gun.

way to pricey for me, i think ill stick to the single shot H&R carbine .500

The price is one that makes one step back a bit... I'd sure like to for Wild West Guns to produce the lever action 500 S&W we've heard rumors of. That would tempt me even more

No doubt. Just imagine the extra velocity from a .500 or a .460 S&W when fired from a lever gun with a 22" or longer barrel.

They're more than capable deer cartridges when fired from handguns - in fact my Sergeant at work hunts with a Magnum Research BFR chambered in .500 S&W for that purpose. A lever gun would be way cool.

I'd like to see a levergun in .454

Or an 870 loaded with slugs.

Take a Remington 7600 in 30-06. (Pump gun)

Now bore the barrel to .429 and ream a straight-wall chamber.

Shorten 30-06 brass a little and blow out the shoulder to take 444 bullets.

Now you have your straight-wall cartridge with brass made for 65,000PSI, and a gun that shoots it.

This would go well beyond the highest 460 energy levels considering the powder capacity.

I think it would be fun, too.

puma is your answer, gunbroker has a few now.

The company appears to primarily make custom double rifles.

I'm guessing they inflated the price of the .500 pump gun, partially so that they don't be seen as producing anything that's 'cheap'.

Another reason would be lack of competition in that market. Who else is offering a .500 pump gun?

A 500 S&W (or a 460) repeater would be cool, but what will it do that a Marlin 1895 GS won't for about $5-600?

Wild West Guns has been threatening to make a levergun in 500 for quite a while but no delivery...

I'll say one thing: the recoil from heavy loads in that cartridge would likely power through the first leg of the pumping motion.

the 500 mag is equilivent to the 50-90 sharps(to which I am in love with), I want to see a 28 inch barrel bolt gun in 500 mag!

i would love a LH .460SW bolt-carbine. Very light, 16-20" barrel. Perfect for deer in CT. I know of none.

Would a WSSM short-action work? the bolt-face is about the same size. Otherwise, a regular short-action would be a bit long by about an inch in the magazine.

Also, i believe the S&W pistols use an advancing twist rate in their barrels - would could make me a barrel like that?

I imagine this idea custom would get close to 2K, though, all in. I'm one powerball away!
