Smith ????????? Rare Version

In my experience, those S&W variations don't amount to anything when it comes to value. For one thing, the factory didn't read the book when they put guns together, so what the book says really means little. For another, parts like serrated triggers could be ordered as options. In addition, parts were/are sold and installed, again without regard to the book.

If you can persuade a buyer that the gun is rare and worth something close to the national debt, fine, but I wouldn't count on it as part of a retirement plan.

+1 Even if it is a rarer variation I would venture a guess at no more than $50 on a 90% M15. The 2" barrels are going for more than the 4" versions. The M15's are a very nice revolver.

My brother-in-law ask me this same question, his 2 inch 15 has the same trigger and is nickle, my blued one has a smoothe trigger.

15-2 with a serrated trigger. Paid $375 for it about a year ago. I'm not sure that 2" serrated trigger 15s are all that rare. A friend bought a 15-2 or -3 off gunbroker last month for $355.

Bear in mind that the SCSW is ripe with errors. The author has admitted it. As far as I know the narrow, serrated trigger is standard on all Model 15s.

My 15 2" has a serrated trigger also FWIW.

It's "rife" BTW. For future reference.

Back then, all S&W's came with serrated triggers.

We were too uneducated to know you simply couldn't shoot right without a smooth trigger.

My take on it is, smooth triggers are cheaper to make then serrated triggers, and that's why we have them on everything now.

When I was enlisted USAF our NCOIC carried a 2" Model 15 that had the wide target hammer and trigger. It was equipped that way when it was shipped to our unit.
