New M&P340CT good current price?

Hey guys,

About a year ago I placed an order for a M&P340CT through a local dealer. After many months they explained they had no idea when it would come in...

I finally found one through another dealer (for more money) and bought it... And I absolutely LOVE it! Carry it every day and love shooting it every chance I get. (I have to admit I'm a recoil junkie... love the 357MAG through it!)

I got a call yesterday telling me my revolver is in. I have a few days to decide whether to buy it or not...

Since it's been quite a while since I shopped them my question is this...

What is a good current price on a brand new M&P340CT? I can pick this gun up for $865 + tax...

Wiley Clapp - highly recommends it in his CCW book...

as the best manstopper as a CCW. If you can handle it, that makes it an excellent choice.

Yes, that's a good price. I just bought a 340CT two weeks ago, and with my LEO/Active Duty discount, I got it for $819. If that's a civilian price (i.e not purchased through a LEO program), then you should pick it up!

Thanks for the feedback, guys... I may go ahead and pick this up and then figure out if I'm gonna keep it or not.

That is civi pricing... But it's through a store that does a ton of LEO sales...

May "upgrade" a Smith 640-1 I have with this one... although I'm finding it harder and harder to ever justify getting rid of a gun these days...

The LEO pricing is a completely different program, regardless of how many sales the store makes to LEOs. The place I shop had an M&P 340 in the store, but it was at the civilian counter. I asked if they could just take that gun and put it on the LEO counter so I could buy it. Nope, they said. They'd lose $200. When they order guns from Smith, Glock, and Beretta through the LEO program they pay less for them from the factory than they do the regular orders. So basically, the manufacturer sells them for less because they're going to LEOs (or active duty military, in my case) and the dealer passes on the savings.
