I want to experiment with using some of my wicked 265gr cast hex-hp bullets in .45 acp. All of the data I have been able to find is for max load .45 super. I just want to make some punkin chunker loads at minimal vlocity. Maybe replicate the old .45 colt BP numbers at most.
How much can I safely reduce the loads listed below using Power Pistol? I will be using new brass for this and a 22 or 24 lb spring if I need to.
275gr Hunter's Supply cast FP Starline 45 Super Federal 150 1.24" Alliant Power Pistol 8.1gr 992fps
255gr West Coast PFP Federal 150 1.20" Alliant Power Pistol 8.5gr 1130fps
P.S. what would be the safest and strongest platform for this experiment. A Sig 220 or M&P .45
